caseyweederman,

What about with the new… thing. Um. There was a thread about it recently. It did… a thing. A Wayland thing.

Somehow, my exhausted brain managed to turn that into a reasonable search string.
Gamescope. A Wayland compositor that lets you define virtual displays that run overtop of your regular desktop.

caseyweederman,

I want to use Micro so badly but my fingers only know Nano’s nonsense shortcut keys.
Also I couldn’t figure out how to make it use real tabs instead of a bunch of spaces. Not great for Python scripts.

caseyweederman,

the daily intake of natural antioxidant sources is very important in the prevention of oxidative stress, since it has many positive effects on our health.

Well now I don’t know who to believe

caseyweederman,

A lot of apps are doing that these days. I don’t really like it.

Re: resources: Dendrite is a full server rewrite for Matrix.
I just have to get it working first…

caseyweederman,

Also they only have to develop one version and don’t need to worry about hardware and OS differences. But then the app version is never specialised, or else the browser version gets bloated up with a bunch of unnecessary features.

Yeah. I don’t know what those flags are… Yet.
The moment a game launch fails in that particular way, I will be diving all the way into that particular deep end.

caseyweederman,

It was… Tenant, in the Fright Night remake, right? My subconscious doesn’t believe me that they’re not really interchangeable.

caseyweederman,

Forget selling it.
I think they’re going to get everyone trapped in the ecosystem, and then they’ll start charging for access to the source.

caseyweederman,

Donate it to me first, and it’ll all be sorted when you get it!

caseyweederman,

Excellent reference. One of my favorite lines.

caseyweederman,

I didn’t read the “these packages will be removed” list.

Oh, another time, I ran sudo rm -fr /usr/bin to test out Timeshift. I had more tests planned, but it turns out all the commands involved lived in /usr/bin (obviously).
Turns out Timeshift was able to rebuild it all like nothing ever happened, so that was cool. Also let me swap between major OS releases super seamlessly.

How to download ALL dependencies for an external .deb package (rescuezilla)?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to prepare a live iso with a USB stick including the additional rescuezilla package (or, alternatively, additional packages for a live rescuezilla .iso). Sadly rescuezilla does not support encryption, and so I’d like to be able to create/encrypt an image on one single live iso, not having to do a...

caseyweederman,

If the dependencies are in the repos you’ve added since, then apt-rdepends should be able to pull them.
I had to keep chaining grep -v to ignore packages that didn’t exist but the result was a success.
