I wouldn’t want Lemmy to host videos, they require a lot of storage and bandwidth for a service the users pay nothing for. 60 seconds of video could equal many thousands of text posts and links. I hope Lemmy stays simple.

I was a bit before that, my group of friends liberally shared 5 1/4" floppies with C64 games on them. I also remember a demo being passed around where someone (not one of my friends) managed to encode about 10 scratchy seconds of “Why can’t this be love?” by Van Halen onto a 360K floppy disk and it was amazing at the time.

All the McD*nalds in my area have been upgraded with order kiosks. Regardless of all the controversy around self-checkout, and minimum wage, and automation taking our jobs, I personally love them. I can take my sweet time composing my order, I can see the full selection (such as it is), I can see pictures and prices clearly...

Out of all the positions at fast food restaurants, cashier seems to most appealing to me.

I was talking to a lady that had somehow gotten into $500,000 of student loans for herself, her ex husband, and their son. And the payments are about to resume.

Honest answer the right doesn’t seem to have any good positions now. They are against fighting climate change, against tolerance, anti-science, and they speak of fiscal responsibility but instead of tax and spend they just spend. They are way too much into mindless defiance and dirty politics. And they are the most hypocritical “do as I say, not as I do” party IMO.
