People keep talking about “Federalizing the National Guard” and now you’ve got other States pledging their NG to Texas in defiance of the Supreme Court (see image)....
To obtain asylum through the affirmative asylum process you must be physically present in the United States. You may apply for asylum regardless of how you arrived in the United States or your current immigration status.
Nah, a quarter of us protest for it, a quarter protest against it, and half pretend that both sides do the same thing and bury their heads in the sand.
You’re not wrong there, but if you are at the “wrong” protest or the wrong skin color, you can easily find yourself in jail, the hospital, or dead from protesting peacefully.
I’m confused. Does the fall of Roe, book bans, banning of trans care, the fact that the speaker of the house wants the Bible to be taught as an historical text, project 2025, the radicalization of the Republican party, Trump running again, and so much more not mean anything to you?
This would be completely ineffectual. Gen z number about the same as boomers. If they showed up in the same percentage, we’d have our change. Not showing up makes it that much harder down the road. Given the plan of 2025, I firmly believe that if we have another Republican president, that even the pretense of a US democracy is over.
Or if you know, having greener spaces and roads underground are actually better for climate change. I’m not sure if this would help in that matter or not, but I think it’s a possibility. Not everything is about our made up concept of money.
It depends on how you think about it. I think of it as giving my kids a piece of myself in my love and effort to care for them. They are their own people, but they carry a part of me, just as I carry a part of my parents and those who helped shape me into the person I am.
I don’t think this person believes that people are actively making up intrusive thoughts or talking about something that doesn’t happen. It seems like they’re saying that thoughts, any thoughts, are our imagination, intrusive or otherwise.
Yeah, that’s what I told my mom. She tried to tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. They wouldn’t just deliver the baby and let someone adopt it if the birth parents don’t want it. No, they’ll kill the baby mid-delivery. I hate that it’s my mom, but some people can’t be reasoned with.

Ancient wisdom often sounds like common sense now that it is commomly taught. What is some ancient wisdom that we no longer teach because it was wrong?
