ech,

I don’t know what the impetus is, but some people seem compelled to put face filters on pretty much everything. I saw a post a while back with a historical photo that had been processed for some reason. It’s absurd.

Anyway to turn off or control the comment highlighting in 0.19?

The instance I’m on just did the update and this comment highlighting is really throwing me off. It’s super glaring and unpleasant imo and I’d really appreciate the ability to turn it off. I’ve looked around a bit but haven’t found anything myself. Am I missing something?

ech, (edited )

As far as I can tell it’s comments made within the last 510(?) minutes or so.

ech,

Ah, that makes some sense. Would still like more control over if it appears at all, but I’m glad to know it’s at least not intentionally that glaring.

ech,

I’m not going to assume your position here, but this really comes off as some “all lives matter” style counter protesting.

ech, (edited )

I definitely see that angle, hence the not assuming, but "um actually"ing a social progress motto isn’t a great look, especially with the existence of “*all lives matter” hanging around.

Also, the whole motto is “Trans Rights are human rights”, so that’s quite literally already laid out.

ech,

You get how unhelpful this is, right? Like, do you go to abortion rights protests and preach the same bs? Or gay rights marches? You’re not helping anyone with this “actually, everyone deserves these rights” garbage. “Everyone” doesn’t face the same problems, so just let people advocate for their rights as they see fit instead of trying to kneecap them for the sake of “equality”.

ech,

Like I started my first comment with, I’m not assuming that’s what they meant with their “correction”. I’m just pointing out the poor optics with a comment like that. And as I said to the other user, the whole slogan is “Trans rights are human rights”. There’s no need to “correct” it - it’s already there.

ech,

Six fish in a tiny ass bowl? Pretty sure Susan there is a fish sadist and the dead one will stay there to torment the others until they ultimately share its fate.

ech,

Me with Speedrunners. Got hooked on it for a little while and got pretty good, but put it down for a few years and don’t stand a chance against anyone still playing it, especially with any custom map.

ech,

“Gary Oldman thanks Batman, Harry Potter for ‘saving’ his family life”.

Accurate, informative, and shorter than the given title.

ech,

Use more of your hand to grab more of the towel, and pull with a steady pressure instead of one hard yank.

ech,

That’s true, but the more surface area you’re interacting with, the less that part will matter. Unless it’s super jammed up, it should come out.

ech,

It’s so obvious, though:

[Parking] [No Parking] [Sandy doesn’t want to talk to you right now, so just give her the space and time she asked for, ok?] [𝔻𝕆𝕆𝕄]

The first two are separate floors, the last two are on the same floor.

ech,

refuse to elaborate further

I’m no dendrologist, but I assume it’s just oxidization, no?

ech,

Interesting!

ech,

I’m not super familiar with current console allowances, but are you suggesting that people can just “host their own server” and not pay the psn or Xbox live fees that are forced onto them? I just don’t think that’s true. You have to pay the fee to connect to any server, even your own.

ech,

Now I’m imagining a moth AU where they’re arguing about the environmental impact of flames vs these “newfangled” light bulbs.

ech,

What? Choosing to bash the existence of real people for views isn’t better. It’s legitimately worse than people who earnestly believe these things. At least they’re trying to improve things as they see it, even if it’s still horrible. Anyone promoting hate like this just for clout and money is the lowest of the low.

ech,

Never heard that term before, but looking into the original webcomic, it kind of comes off as a defense of bigotry and hate. Like, I get how it sort of relates to what everyone’s attributing it to, but if someone says they hate “those kinds of people”, should they really expect to not be harangued for it?

To be clear, I’m not trying to defend the user “just asking for evidence” here. Just questioning the source of this term, which seems, well, questionable.

ech,

Ah yes, the poor bigot. “Stuck” being hateful because other people won’t stop judging them for it. It’s all their fault, really!

🙄

ech,

Because that’s not the point of my comment? We both know what I’m talking about, and several posts in this very thread go into more detail. If you seriously don’t see the problems with it, I’m not the one who’s going to convince you otherwise.

But I doubt you’re quite so genuine. So go take your “just asking for evidence” trolling elsewhere.

ech,

Why is this bullshit being posted and getting tons of traction

I already said - context. If none of the anti-trans stuff happened, nobody would care about this photo. And nobody’s using this as “evidence”. It’s just more shit on the pile.
