I rocked a Samsung Alias 2 for 4 years before I got an iPhone 5. The e-ink keyboard was awesome how it changed when you flipped the screen open to portrait or landscape.
Except the Stargate also dematerializes you. Also there’s no way of guaranteeing that the gate on the other end is open and there’s apparently no safety protocols to ensure that it is so you could open the gate and then step through and just die.
Oh you know it could be underwater.
Or in space.
Or around a black hole in which case you die even if you don’t enter.
Really they’re actually quite dangerous technology and definitely not safe.
I don’t imagine it would be a major problem though maybe it would let them get one or two easy meals but predators don’t hunt unless they’re hungry. So once they’ve taken down one prey animal they’ll ignore the rest. On a species level it’s probably not a major issue.
As opposed to roads which will kill lots of animals.
It’s not really degrading functionality there is it. It’s a feature that no one wants and is annoying and badly thought out but you can turn it off but they haven’t disabled any functionality to add this feature
I think it’s somehow related to the prohibition era. Perhaps alcohol was under the jurisdiction of narcotics?
It’s odd that above doesn’t know it, I thought its definition was well known and would have had no qualms about using it, I wonder if it’s a regional word now?
My position is I’ll pay for it within reason but at some point it’s ridiculous. Like I can’t really be bothered to pay for all of Apple TV just so I can watch For All Mankind it’s not worth it.
How are they tagging everyone though? Where’s this database they’re comparing against?
If this is like any other government project it won’t work, it will cost 10 million pounds, and is developed by a company that previously specialized in the manufacture of plastic cutlery.

People don’t really realise that tone of voice is hard to convey in text.
You have to pick your market with sarcasm on the internet, it either has to be super obvious or it has to be in a context in which people are expecting sarcasm.
Also there’s always going to be someone who actually thinks along the lines of a sarcastic comment, and it’s always difficult to tell whether or not they actually think that’s the case.
There’s absolutely no evidence that this is going to be the case. All that happened is that the CEO made a dumb comment and CEOS are always making dumb comments doesn’t mean anything.
