I like Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks but frankly Discovery can get lost. Oh it’s dark and gritty and special magic flying mushroom aliens that kind of break the setting because they can basically teleport you anywhere, they just ruined the canon. Also it’s set in the past why is it set in the past? The show doesn’t need to be in that time. So they could have set it in the future and actually done something interesting with the franchise.
To me it is clear they didn’t want to make a Star Trek show, so why did they slap the franchise name on it? It would have been fine if they just made an original show.
My position is I’ll pay for it within reason but at some point it’s ridiculous. Like I can’t really be bothered to pay for all of Apple TV just so I can watch For All Mankind it’s not worth it.
People don’t really realise that tone of voice is hard to convey in text.
You have to pick your market with sarcasm on the internet, it either has to be super obvious or it has to be in a context in which people are expecting sarcasm.
Also there’s always going to be someone who actually thinks along the lines of a sarcastic comment, and it’s always difficult to tell whether or not they actually think that’s the case.
It kind of works though because it’s a prequel to things like TOS and TNG. We’ve already seen those shows, so we know they’re basically wondering around what will become their own backyard in a couple of hundred years. There really isn’t that much that’s dangerous there. Mostly it’s about interpersonal situations and meeting new species for the first time.
I think Lemmy just compressors images that are in the comments in a way it doesn’t do for posts. It’s really weird and kind of broken behaviour. You are probably better off hosting it somewhere and then just linking to the host.
You want it to work all of the time, well, frankly that’s just unreasonable
Unfortunately Plex is just kind of crap like that.
One time it decided that it only had episode 6 series 4 of bones, and none of the others even though they were sat right there in the file system, I could play them and everything from Windows. How did it manage that, no idea.
When it does stuff like that you just have to resync your library and eventually it’ll actually do it and start working again.
The other thing that never seems to get taken into account is that most of the NRA membership wouldn’t be able to hit the broad side of a barn if it weren’t for the fact that the barn was stationary and not firing back.
They think that proficiency at the shooting range is the same thing as proficiency in combat.
