Fair enough.

That’s cute, but also not how any of this works.

I suggest www.amazon.com/…/0465060730 – it’s 700 pages but I’m sure you can do it if you put some effort in.

Perhaps things are different where you live, but where I live, there’s always a significant additional bureaucratic cost when selling a house and buying another one. Because of that, renting has at least a single clear benefit beyond just being able to afford it: greater flexibility. Also, the financial risk is almost zero when you rent.

M$ is it keeps trying to be more and more like Apple

Apple has adverts in macos somehow, but I’m not sure what it means since I’ve never seen ads in there. Perhaps they’re in app store or safari or something, but I don’t use either, so I don’t know.

Windows on the other hand pumps ads on you right at first boot on desktop. I’m sure it’s possible to turn them off somehow, but I usually choose to turn them off by installing Linux.

Another good one is Magnet. Its weakness is that the tiling is manual, but once you internalize the keybindings, it’s good enough. And because it’s manual, it doesn’t screw up your windows like all the others seem to (for me at least).

Sway on Linux beats all of them hands down, though.

So which is capitalism? The world of Star Trek contains technology that has brought humanity (and other species) to a state of extreme abundance. They generate food from energy and they have almost infinite energy. The situation is so much better than the real world that probably any system would work just fine. One of the biggest reasons why we need to have economic systems is scarcity.

The amount of people living in extreme poverty was 94% in 1820. In 1981, it was 44.3%. In 2015, 9.6%. This effect is entirely due to Capitalism. Perhaps wages in the West have stagnated because people in other countries deserve those better wages more? Just a hunch, no data to back that one up, except these statistics.

This incredible success in saving people from horrible conditions might not continue, but the recent history has been pretty great.

Didn’t that thing end pretty badly?

I think it’s fair that what happens in real world affects how one thinks about a political theory.

Also the peace.

Pol Pot pretended to be a communist, until it no longer suited him and he had them killed.

He was the leader of the Communist Party of Kampuchea from 1963-1981, at which point it was rebranded as the Party of Democratic Kampuchea, which he lead until 1985. Also that new party was communist. The Cambodian genocide was roughly 1975-1979.

Are you just defining people who are absolutely horrible not communists even though they call themselves communist, are allied with other governments who call themselves communist, and execute similar policies as them? I mean I get the impulse, I also get plenty of negative feelings when I think about pro-free market, pro-freedom politicians who commit atrocities or say stupid shit and would rather that those people don’t exist. Sadly, real world doesn’t always like us.

Yes, my apologies. School bullying is a serious problem.

Yet somehow almost every nation that’s neighboring Russia is ready to fight Russia just for the privilege of not being in Russia. We cannot all be just delusional.

USA seemed to rather successfully suppress the violent factions inside their nation, several times.

I can be pro-palestinian people and still think that after several decades of not being able to suppress the violent factions inside their nation, they should completely bail off from that general area.
