Don’t have kids, probably never will, but I can sympathize with parents not wanting to be woken at 3am by an annoying teen. But also I recognize that is just what is going to happen.
My parents tried all sorts of things to get me to behave more like a responsible adult, and yet I behaved like an irresponsible teen. I just sucked up the punishment when I had to as a cost of doing business (and by business I mean staying out late on a school night)
I was barely in our family home from the age of 15+. Not because my parents were bad, but because it was what I wanted to do. My brother was home every night and in bed before midnight on weekends. I was the one saying “I’m going to a different city for the weekend, back Sunday night”
If they had punished me for it, I would have just done it when the punishment was over.
I’m not saying you’re lying I’m saying that in the majority of cases, bullying isn’t solved by kicking a random kid in the groin.
in some cases it might actually make things worse, as people might be out for revenge, or cause you to become a social pariah, or even get into trouble with the police.
I’ll take the bait a little. I will help small businesses out of SEO holes from time to time. My friends’ business was really stuck, and often you just need an outside eye to point out some obvious things: their home page was a splash screen with no text, they didn’t use the most-searched terms in their headings, they were using text-on-imagd with no alt text.
As, generally, it’s agreed we need businesses to have a society (somewhat unfortunately), and businesses need the internet to function nowadays (mixed blessing), I don’t think it’s necessarily bad to help the smaller guys succeed.
“Yankees” was the unofficial term of the people of the Union (who won the war and became the united states) vs the Confederates (“Rebs”) who supported slavery
not particularly invested in this comment but isn’t the concept of “politician” essentially just “celebrity” nowadays anyway?
That someone has access to money and influence, can use those to set policy and maintain/secure both in-party and general-public votes. What’s the difference between politician and celebrity there? One could argue that experience in setting policy and/or studying law, but that doesn’t apply to a whole range of politicians anyway.
"Network Settings: In Jellyfin’s network settings, make sure it’s set to listen on the correct network interface associated with your VPN connection.
"Port Forwarding: If you’ve previously set up port forwarding on your router for Jellyfin, you may need to reconfigure it to forward the VPN-assigned IP and port.
“Local IP Addresses: Check any configurations in Jellyfin that reference local IP addresses and update them if necessary to reflect the IP assigned by the VPN.”

as I said in my post: no instructions on how to configure it to "forward the VPN-assigned IP and port." or even what it really means (like I know port forwarding is where data comes in on an address, and is sent to another address, but how one reconfigures those, especially w/r/t a VPN I have no idea)

edit: I also believe that the port forwarding is where docker-compose is telling the pi where each app can be accessed via the .YML

but all of these words I hadn't even heard of until a few weeks ago when I started this process, so there's a lot I don't understand

this is what I’m trying to do. I’ve played around with the Arr apps and they work as far as I can tell - but don’t want to use them until the network/VPN stuff is secure and safe
high-level: in the USA, download TV and movies and watch them on the TV without having to connect a cable from my computer to my TV.
I have mullvad on my phone, but when I installed it on my Pi it blocks all ssh connections (which was how I was using the pi), some googling told me this was expected behavior and I should configure my proxy/reverse proxy first with the VPN built in.
the webserver, as I understood it, is so I can watch the movies when it’s done, but again as I understand it, has to be configured alongside the VPN to let me in to watch stuff, but not show the government/police/whatever that I am watching stuff
