Cops are waaaaay more likely to commit domestic abuse against their spouses and children.
It’s unproven if shitty violent people are more likely to become cops, or if the training they receive and the culture they work in turns normal people into violent psychopaths.
But whichever is true, a cop is more likely to turn to violence in a disagreement/confrontation than pretty much any occupation.
Even libraries have options to be shared, if it’s recommending from non shared libraries that’s real fucked up and sounds like a bug and not intentional

Most of the huge truck guys also happen to be well under the average height, so entire reasonable size cars disappear in front of them when they tailgate. They might see the roof, but they won’t see brake lights or taillights.
It’s flat out not safe for other people. Which is why we have people driving giant SUVs instead of minivans now. Which just makes it worse for everyone else.
With how federation works, they really need Karma so they can set karma requirements
Like, if a troll gets banned from lemmy.world, there’s literally 100+ instances they can go and make an account on to post on lemmy.world again. Takes just a few minutes to get back at it.
There needs to be either a federation wide IP black list, or some kind of bot that notifies instance admins when a flagged IP register somewhere else, maybe even auto bans the new accounts for instances that have them flagged, but they can still post to the rest.
It’s not about stopping 100% of trolls, it’s about making it so inconvenient to get around that trolls get bored with it and troll somewhere else.
There was one account that made like 5 general ones for celebrities, and then a specific sub for every celebrity. So if he posted once, he posted 5 times in a row.
When I blocked him, there was like 100+ subs. It made browsing /all unbearable.
There’s more than a few channels that upload every episode almost immediately and you can pull the video via a download site by pasting in the URL if you want to archive them.
Some shows like Taskmaster just straight up upload their own shows as well.
