Agreed. It’s comical how he’s seemingly able to rapidly build stuff that requires experience in multiple high end fields and then he even surrounds himself with his own tech and is not buried under maintenance hell for it all.

My alternative head canon is that he’s actually only good at building AIs and Jarvis and Friday are the ones who actually make all of his crazy ideas work.

greenskye, to memes in Religious parents

I really don’t understand how people who are reasonably devout followers of different religions ever end up together. Almost all of them make it against the rules or at least extremely problematic. Why would you marry someone that your religion says is going to hell because they don’t believe what you do? And if you do it anyway, why would you stay in that religion? Makes no sense.

Yep the whole Internet feels like a dying mall. There are still some places I go for specific needs, but I’d say my casual browsing of any kind just keeps getting smaller.

greenskye, to movies in Gen Z is turned off by onscreen sex, wants no-mance over romance, a new study finds

How does Gen Z feel about nudity in films? Either nudity that fits the scene and feels logical or nudity just for fan service?

I’m cool if your just not a fan of shoe horned in and cringey sex scenes, but lots of younger folks come off as weirdly puritanically prudish to me. Why are we so much more comfortable with casual violence than casual nudity? That bothers me.

greenskye, to comicstrips in Time-stop [Chris Hallbeck]

Technically speaking this sort of 'time stop’s phenomenon would have to selectively keep time going for certain objects. Otherwise you’d suffer to death because the air molecules are frozen or cause some sort of weird radiation issues from atoms colliding with other atoms as you moved while other things didn’t.

AI is pretty bad at consistency

I mean, they can’t really force you to work in that case. Why wouldn’t you just refuse to work? Or just hunger strike?

I’ve now had the opposite problem where some are too bright and didn’t come with a dim enough setting. It’s actually so bright it dazzles my eyes and I can barely see the thing it’s pointing at.

I do it in my head and then on a calculator because I don’t trust my head to do it correctly

greenskye, to memes in Yeh seriously

Basically any movement against bad people who happen to be part of a minority seems to get hijacked by bigoted people eventually.

My parents and grandparents will routinely give me directions to the restaurant we’re all going to. In the past I tried to stop them as I can never remember them anyway and certainly don’t use the same landmarks. Now I just nod my head and pretend like I got it all on the first try and then just use Google maps like a sane person.

How hot was his pee? Pretty sure it’d just freeze before it melted even a minor amount of ice

Good ol’ unbirth.

Didn’t they have calculator watches like ages ago?

greenskye, to memes in Which pill do you choose?

Actually managing to sell that many coins would be pretty difficult. I remember exchanges crashing on the day it peaked as everyone was trying to sell. It’d still be way to make a lot of money though.
