gunpachi, to piracy in Tachiyomi replacement is out

Can confirm it’s working. Backup from tachiyomi J2k restores successfully in Mihon.

This has been my main issue with Kotatsu and Mangayomi.

gunpachi, to piracy in Tachiyomi forks and Alternatives

I’m trying to decide between Dantotsu , mangayomi and kotatsu right now.

R.I.P tachiyomi, I have used it for years. Kind of sad to see it go. Are the forks also abandoning development ? I have been using the TachiJ2k fork for the past 3 years or so.

I guess I will be shifting to kotatsu soon.

gunpachi, (edited ) to linux in What's your current favorite distro that isn't Arch, Debian or Fedora?

Some of my favourites are Void Linux, Artix and Opensuse Tumbleweed

Void was my first non-systemd distro, and it was super snappy as well. Some packages may not available but overall I had a really great experience with it. It also offers a version with the musl C library. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Opensuse tumbleweed is an overall a great distro, it’s one of my favourites. Also I noticed that many people have recommended it and that’s for a good reason. It’s installer isn’t that user friendly but I would prefer it over Fedora’s installer any day. ( I haven’t tried the last 3 iterations of Fedora, so it might have changed now )

Artix is well… arch with different init systems. Nothing too crazy. Its what I have been daily driving for the past year or so.

gunpachi, (edited ) to linux in Terminal Utility Mega list!
  • Kakoune should also be added under Text editors.
  • Yazi is a good terminal based file manager
  • nnn is another file manager
  • rtorrent for a terminal based torrent client
  • nushell - a different kind of shell.
  • starship prompt
  • weechat for IRC

I always use the status=progress argument.

gunpachi, to linux in A symptom of linux past traumas

Assuming that you are dualbooting from a single storage device - If you have some money to spare go and buy a second ssd. Keeping both OSes in separate storage devices will result in far lesser chances of screwing up.

gunpachi, to linuxmemes in Everyone loves snaps

Also check out Spiral Linux. It’s a pretty good distro.

I also hate it but unfortunately have to use it for work.

gunpachi, to piracy in [Louis Rossmann] Piracy is COMPLETELY justified: Louis tries NetFlix and remembers why

There’s this Indian ISP called Jio. They have internet plans that bundle 14 or 15 Streaming services. These are mostly streaming that are only avaialble to that region. At least that way people don’t have to go through the hassle of managing every single subscription.

I’m personally happy with sailing the seas, not that I have time to watch all this content anyway.

Haha! Good one

Mysudo seems like what you are looking for. I have not tried it because it’s not available in my country yet.

gunpachi, to linux in What happens when Linus dies/retires?

That would be one helluva evil plan.

gunpachi, to linux in What happens when Linus dies/retires?

Is it still maintained ? I’d probably go with FreeBSD if I’m switching to BSD at all. It has ZFS out of the box and has support for nvidia’s non opensource driver. I have used it as a desktop OS for a good 3 months, it was pretty good (even though I couldn’t game on it)

gunpachi, (edited ) to linuxmemes in Screw init wars, real OGs discriminate based on DE

You do you. No offence to KDE, I just prefer gtk over qt. Xfce has been my fallback desktop for a long time. So maybe I got attached to it.
