I disagree with tax & rent being lumped together. I have no problem with my (high) tax rate as it supports education, infrastructure, etc. The outrageously inflated rent goes to the same guy that stole 95% of your pizza in the first place.

According to Wikipedia it was an actual fear that homosexuality is contagious. That belief is probably alive and well amongst idiots.

I always thought it to be more akin to hydrophobia instead of arachnophobia - as in fat reacting to water. Now I think that is to take as fat is neither attacking water nor is it insane.

That’s a different topic though! Don’t conflate collecting funds with usage/distribution of funds. We all need to accept that we have to pay (high) taxes. That the upper 10% haven’t paid their fair share in decades and that there is misuse has nothing to do with my tax rate. We need the upper 10% to pay way way more and we need better accountability for usage of the money. Pretty much regardless of where you live on this planet by the way.

I know it’s anecdotal but I have never seen a single IT service guy I’d fancy seeing in a maid outfit.

That’s a good question! Xenophobia has an evolutionary basis and exists in other species as well (e.g. chimpanzees). Encountering another group of humans (or chimps) might be dangerous. Being cautious is beneficial for survival.

However, when you add racism and are actively hostile to another group - is it still a Phobia? And if not or if it is not fear-motivated, what do you call it?

Let’s have a guess what country that guy lives in. 😉 The post with the most upvotes wins.

Sure, but some are more likely than others. I was hoping for a game of guessing and upvoting.

You have 10 numbers (or cyphers/digits) and 26 letters (mileage varies by language). You can build infinite sequences with these.

It’s not that hard, is it?

Edit: stupid typo. It used to say I’d, not it’s. (Scribble typing, autocorrect and shit proofreading lead to funny things)

The silliest argument so far…😀

That consists of ….?

Pythagoras died a ‘thirdgin’ because of this. /s

I.e. you don’t even need algebra to use letters.

Nah, I’d just prefer a Burka in their case.

What? Combining letters to words and words to sentences?

hessenjunge, to lemmyshitpost in How I cannot be worry??

This is how to drive other people, especially coworkers, insane. That’s all that is.

Ah, I missed that (and the typo obviously). I usually ‘type’ by tracing my fingers across the keyboard on mobile. This method is 97% correct, 2% incorrect ,and 1% hilarious or embarrassing.

I need to do a better job proofreading and you could do a better job pointing out the typos (so even slow people like me can catch on).
