Fellow Extreme Weather Lemmings, what are your Buy it for Life winter boot suggestions?

We got my husband some Helly Hansen boots the year before last and we noticed a hole in them last year. I am right pissed. If I’m dropping hundreds of dollars on boots, I expect to get my money’s worth. What are your awesome boot suggestions to help me do just that?

I farm and I’ll wear Mucks. They eventually wear out and the neoprene gets snagged with barbwire, but they’ll go for about 3 winters of daily use for 6 months IME before it’ll get a hole around where the neoprene meets the rubber. Leave room for a good pair of wool socks and I’ve worn them to -43 as long as I’m moving around. But I’m also not very susceptible to cold, so YMMV.

Jesus, there are people that just need to shoehorn in some moralizing in every goddamn thread, isn’t there?

Thanks for that hot take.

I'm being harassed by mosquitoes, how do i kill them all?

To my knowledge there’s no stagnant water on my property, I’ve run water through all my ptraps, and I’m careful to not leave doors open. Yet at any given time there’s at least 3 in my house. I can’t sleep, i can’t sit on the couch, i can’t exist in the fear of being sucked dry....

Because there’s a unit you can buy that burns propane to make CO2 and pull mosquittos away from you to a different area of the yard.

I regularly do this on backpacking trips.

Don't ask me how, I don't even know. I call it Camping Constipation Mode. I usually leave on a Thursday afternoon and get home Sunday night without feeling the urge to shit. And I eat as normally as you can when backpacking, I guess. Seems like most of the dehy food should make you thread a needle at 10 paces but doesn't seem to affect me that way.

Even if I put on a neoprene mask and scarf, I could only do one run and then had to go into the lodge for half an hour to warm up. It was brutal, but I think I still have a pic of the sign at the lift telling the temperature. They shut down the gondola because they were afraid to put people up on it.
