the developer, and this isnt exaggeration, does not understand gpl v3. he literally got confused when people told him he had no right to sell contributed code. you can see for yourself in the github discussions

wait i think ive had a breakthrough, all system packages SEEM to run fine but all flatpak applications are effected. this seems to be flatpak related

jackpot,
@jackpot@lemmy.ml avatar

just tested it, vlc system package opens in .2 seconds but flatpak opens in 30 seconds.

this impacts file access speeds too, system package opens things in like .2 of a second but flaptak again takes like 30

the linux mint discussion forum has a post about my model not being great but last update my system worked just fine. i actually think having a full ssd broke flatpak. otherwise ive hit a horrible regression issue github.com/orgs/linuxmint/discussions/277

it took 30 seconds but this got outputted and then the file ran: dave@dog: ~$ flatpak run org.x.Warpinator Gtx-Message: 14:29:03.389: Failed to load module “xapp-gtk3-module” Using landlock for incoming file isolation

i deleted everything ywsterday, and i trimmed today. i was unaware of the dead cell issue. is there a way to disk defragment an ssd?

linux mint became super slow

so im not sure if this is update related or storage related. somewhere online told me to check ‘page faults’ and theyre at 16998 MINFL and 114 MAJFL. i ran out of storage on my ssd so i clesred half of it by deleting timeshift snapshots (and disabled it). it’s still running like a slug. once an application is open, it’s...

Looking to make the switch

Hi everyone, looking to make the switch from windows. I’m reasonably technically apt but not a programmer by any means. I’ve been doing some homework on which distro I would like to use and pop_os kinda feels like the right direction. I’m running an Nvidia 3060TI on a Ryzen 5600 chip set on an Asus tuf motherboard. Any...

get flatseal, stick with flatpaks from your app manager. use keepass for your passcodes and syncthing to sync everything. have fun!

you should keep a list and tell management how much software costs youre saving and how that can be scaled for every employee

indias growth is so important, it’s such a dense country so growth will be rapidly exponential unlike 95℅ of other countries. it’s the perfect mixing pot of technologically literate, dense, money conscious, and distrustful of western influence for linux to thrive in. once india is dominated by linux, it will expand outwards so fast.

year of the linux desktop is based on how many third party apps are there, not how many people use it imo. they correlate and impact one another but arent the same
