After testing - it is your app. The image host (catbox.moe) works on desktop web, Voyager, and Jerboa in the US. It could be the webp format since this as a gif would be over 200mb.
I don’t think anyone would have a problem with external hosting sites (catbox.moe, imgur, etc.). I do agree, though, posting a gif is problematic to do natively on Lemmy.
