Now that I know what to do (switch audio codecs on sound icon in menu bar depending on being in a call or listening to music) it works better for me on Linux Feroda than on Windoge.
I was wondering if you can do BIOS updates through wine (because obviously they only are supplied as .exes) but it doesn’t sound like something I’d like to try …
Yeah, I think if videofiles where a common (or even feasable, I’ve never heard of it) way to distribute malware we’d know about it (and phishers would not need to rely on MS Word macros so much 👌).
What I’d want is to do Ctrl-F anywhere to search everything, then get a list of results, click on an entry and get to the line in the note where the searched phrase is, having it highlighted.
Instead you have to click on “All notebooks” on the top left, search, which returns all the notes that have the phrase, click on one of them, search again and hope that it was the correct notebook or try the next one
Ctrl-P does what I want but it’s not highlighting the result which is just a minor inconvenience.
I don’t trust e (that name 🤦♀️) not sure why but they pulled some weird stuff in the beginning that I can’t remember and at least back when I checked years ago they shipped a weird store that got it’s apps from shady apk sites which is a strange move to push on everyday consumers. I hope they changed but …
I have a friend who (just like me) has had a FP3, we were both very happy with it. Not sure why but he needed to replace it, got the FP5 but it was to clunky for him. Replaced it with a Pixel with Graphene likes it a lot.
I’d still still perfectly happy with my FP3 running Lineage/MicroG but my SD-card slot seems to be broken and I’m running out of space. I’m getting a FP5 in about a week, let’s see if it’s too clunky for me as well ^__^
Just as a tiny nitpick: PDFs can be just a collection of images. If there’s text I would hope that they’re embedded as text or vectors, which is what would usually happen if you export a document from a program (that isn’t completely bs). So texts / vector graphics etc should not be images usually (unless you scan a document as a PDF - which I hate with a passion but can see that people prefer a single PDF over a collection of image files). Even then you could OCR the imges / PDF to make it searchable etc. Anyway in this case it seems to be a collection of images indeed ^__^
Thanks for the writeup, that’s far more advanced than what I need to do in my work sometimes ^__^ But cool that it looks like there are options on Linux.
Is Libredirect working good for you? Every few month I turn it on for a couple of services (YT, Wikipedia, Reddit, Github, Twitchan) and turn it off after a few days because I can’t be bothered trying to find instances that work, it’s just a constant pain for me.
