Looking for Notes App for Android & Linux

I am trying to slowly de-Google-ify myself by moving to open source apps, I wanna ditch google notes and evernote. I tried obsidian, standard notes, and joplin, I liked using obsidian on PC and standard notes looks nice on android but obsidian you need to pay to have sync and standard notes doesn’t do markdown unless you pay...

Logseq is worth looking into as well. You’d have the same sync conundrum as Obsidian, and can solve it the same way too.

I mean, I’m sure we can come up with a lot of reasons why not to do it.

My point was just that you don’t need to choose between hanging out with your friends and making a new friend. You never know, that person could become a friend for life. I think it’s worth making the effort but I understand it’s not for everyone.

I’m selective about who I keep as friends but I try not to close myself off initially, as I’ve been on the other end of it as well; being in a new city and trying to make friends. With some people it just doesn’t click, while others I still have as some of my best friends.

Anyways, I wasn’t trying to upset anyone, just giving my 2 cents

Doesn’t have to be one or the other. Invite them along to your existing friend group activities if you think that person seems nice.

Sure, I’m down. My point is, there’s really no point to over-analyse it. Choose one, flip a coin, hold a referendum, I really don’t care as long as we stop having these pointless changes twice a year.

There just always seems to be an excuse and then it goes into an argument of standard over summer. It really doesn’t matter. It’s impossible to please all and cover every single use-case. Humans will adapt.

Let’s just flip a coin. Heads we stick with summer time, tails we stick with standard. In 2026 it goes live. Gives everyone 2 years to update what they need. Humans will adapt.
