I wouldn’t accept something like that either, you can’t force people to just waste (in their view) countless of hours on something they don’t care about.
People can use whatever they like, and I’m guessing your dad only wants to use Apple more because of everyone telling him to stop using it.
As a Dutch person I’ve never seen a water heating system with a tank like in the US, we all use boilers and they are fantastic. Boilers are harder to use in “big” homes though.

Linux is not much different depending on what you do, all I recommend is stay away from distrobutions that use snap packages and the like. Linux Mint is a common recommendation.

That makes sense! I’m currently in the US and have only seen Gouda once and it tasted nothing like it, in the Netherlands there’s also many varieties of Gouda that all taste very different.
