Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
They go through the Star Wars movies from a book lore perspective, point out flaws in the writing and lore-breaking, and offer suggestions on how the sequels could have been handled differently. They did The Last Jedi, and I really enjoyed it. They also have some cool videos on podracing, ships, and guns.
Really solid drawing tutorials that aren’t very complicated, takes the time to break down high-level concepts into simple exercises. Overall a really fun channel to watch, even if you’re not into drawing.
Newgrounds-era animator with amazing compositing techniques and a very unique animation style where he inserts himself into his videos as a very animated caricature of himself.
A storm chaser who is Reed Timmer’s ying to his yang. Very chill, documentary-quality footage featuring himself playing guitar and talking about the beauty and power of nature. You’ve probably seen his footage on the Weather Channel!
Great deep dives into random technology, old and new. The video on the popcorn button on microwaves is really good (I think that may be on his second channel?)
I can imagine people having fun getting lost in the flow of playing a competitive sport. I’ve also heard some people experience a post-workout high. But does anyone actually feel pleasure in the moment while lifting weights, jogging, cycling, etc?...
Working out is about discipline, not pleasure imo. I’m sure there are some folks who really enjoy working out, but for most of the general public, it’s about sticking to a routine and seeing yourself improve, regardless of how it makes you feel
If you throw away the trash can from your house, you still have to put the garbage somewhere. If a program is outputting errors or logs, it still needs to put them somewhere, so no more /dev/null means no more default trashcan for the system to send its trash, as far as I understand it
I managed to bork my first Linux mint install by not paying attention to my permissions I was setting for a usb drive and basically locked myself out of the system and prevented it from booting into the desktop environment. Lesson learned, don’t copy/paste commands from StackOverflow and run them without thinking about what you’re trying to do

I did this and found it worked way better in terms of stability. Bonus is that Mullvad has a proper Linux client whereas Proton’s is just a cobbled-together mess that’s not worth using and is no where close to feature parity with the Windows client
For example, I used to follow a lot of subreddits for individual YouTube content creators, however, Lemmy doesn’t really have the size or culture to support this currently.
Beans, Beans, They’re good for your heart, The more you eat, The more you fart, The more you fart, The better you feel, So eat some beans with every meal!
One of mine is when I finish wrapping my hair up tightly in the towel to dry after washing, I whack the towel where it’s tucked in, kind of like encouragement to stay tucked for the duration, kinda like a coach does when sending the kids onto the playing field.
Every fifth step I take in a sidewalk must have the sidewalk crack be perfectly positioned in the middle of my foot, then five steps later the other foot gets to step on the crack. Feels very satisfying but it does cause my gait to be a bit off at times lol
I’ve added my favorite YouTube channels in the comments below. (Feel free to check them out!) But, my preferences aside, what YouTube channel(s) do you want more people to see?
If you have 12 hours of idle time, there’s a fantastic video on The Phantom Menace that really added to my appreciation for it. Bread Circus is amazing
What a dick move, especially the second one. Really goes to show that management seems to forget they’re dealing with actual humans and not machines being turned off at an assembly line. So dehumanizing.
Google is an ad company first, and as long as that gravy train is flowing they’ll be fine. Their dominance as a search engine is just to maintain their monopoly on internet ads, not give customers a good searching experience, hence why sponsored links are the first thing to appear and count as a view in their analytics
Which YouTuber still creates high-quality videos to this day?
