Everybody hates arch for no good reason, I’m so sick of seeing these ancient /g/ memes. The Linux community should have better things to do than shit on one of the most secure distros. Like, y’all realize backdoors are built into motherboards nowadays right? So sure, we need to be even more zealous, serious and loud if anything, but the infighting? The infighting is fucking childish.
I’ve found Garuda pretty much gets you all the perks of Arch without the drawbacks and installs just as quickly as debian if not faster. And I love ancient Linux memes as much as anybody but neither Debian or fedora is much to write home about nowadays IMHO.
I’m almost 3k behind because my parents forced me into choosing college or the military at 18. I wasn’t remotely ready for either (was dealing with extreme gender dysphoria at the time) and I’m deeply opposed to the army but sometimes I wish I had chosen otherwise… I don’t know if I’m ever fixing this. All my cash goes to survival and everything I own is constantly breaking. Poverty is a vicious cycle…
Hmmm, Greatly lower my risk of heart disease and parasites overall? Allow me to enjoy deep-frying and carbs guiltlessly? Make me feel like I can fight god and win?
I find ASCII incredibly readable honestly. I use pixel fonts too, but I love the sharp blocky characters it’s so much easier on the eyes than whatever windows or iOS has going on by default
These expectations are the problem, if I agreed to sell my soul because I didn’t want to read a several page agreement while installing a free program, should they get it? Fuck no. Also, as somebody who’s worked all sorts of different positions: these rules are unenforceable, in a lot of cases. If a business hires you, they will try to keep that asset. A lot of times managers do not care what you wear until you’re someone they don’t like. Especially if you work in food service, and make a standard industry wage (that is, not shit!!) Push that envelope. Your coworkers will too, maybe.
Endeavour is a great alternative IMHO, but Garuda’s development is definitely more skewed towards gaming and comes with a lot preinstalled/preconfigured.
