Ok, Evernote committed hara-kiri, so time to move on. (no way I’ll pay for ransomware) Any tips for good alternatives for Linux/Android platform? My wife used Nimbus note a while back, recovered her account there, ColorNote pops up when looking for alternatives as well....

I’m using free Standard Notes account for couple of years and it’s pretty solid for basic note taking. It obviously lacks all the bells and whistles of paid version, but I’m fine with this for the great price of $0.

Actually it does not, sadly. I’ve used it for years (probably five or even more) and ditched it couple months ago when I got angry at it. The main problem is I could not force it to accept MMS on newer android (used to work on my old phone IIRC) which is crucial for my work - because voice mail gets delivered as MMS in my country. Every time I got work phone call that I missed meant voice mail that never got delivered. I got notification that I have MMS, and that I need to allow them, but that’s it. Everything was allowed in the app and in the systsm, still no MMS.

I believe they try to force it asap to make pressure on applications developers to really speed things up.

When I dumped windows for the first time (maybe about 5-6 years ago) I immediately stumbled upon articles about bad wayland needing decades to mature. And here I am couple years later running linux on wayland quite happily.

Well, I’m playing Fallout: New Vegas on linux right now and it works way better than other Bethesda games I’ve played on windows. And FNV has a reputation of being really glitchy/buggy with lots of crashes. Yes, it crashed twice so far, but for 70+ hours and constant alt+tabbing it doesn’t sound that bad!

Interesting. Even though I definitely have some mild form of OCD, I do not have single issue with Breeze defaults look.

I would probably use something like Musicbrainz Pickard or some more feature rich player like Foobar2000.

Yeah, I use it on linux too. I’d substitute Foobar for Strawberry player on linux for playbacl and tags editing.

Nope. At least not in my country. There is 3 months “apprenticeship” where either employer or employee can terminate the contract without any reasoning. One hour you’re employed, the other you are not. Is it because boss did not like your face? Could be and it still would be legal… So the same also applies to refusing to share info to US, no need to prove anything to anyone, you’re just fired.

Exactly. They’re dead. In the end it doesn’t even matter how they died, they’re just dead. Is one way worse? Yes, but the result is still horrific. They. Are. Dead. Noone can take it back. Does it make worse that crowd applauds the killing? Yes. But same goes for the Israeli crowd (like the one in Kneset) applauding killing terrorist together with their families and children…

The older I am the more disgusted of all the war pigs and warmongers I am. As a teen I scoffled at hippies and their beliefs, today I’d shake their hands. Fuck war, fuck killing, fuck war pigs.
