leave_it_blank,

Thank you for the edit, I was really starting to be confused. And kudos to keeping it up and clarifying, I wish there were more people like you!

leave_it_blank,

I tried to migrate to Microsoft, it didn’t work, support wasn’t any help, now it’s gone. Bought it in beta in 2011.

Contacted support again, they told me to purchase it again.

Nope. I found other ways.

Fuck these assholes.

leave_it_blank,

Is this a reference to HAL? Otherwise I’m a little lost…

leave_it_blank,

I love the D, it’s my favourite starship of all time.

But my god, the E looks beautiful!!

leave_it_blank,

It’s funny. Before this crackdown none of my co-workers used adblockers. To install an add-on was too much hassle. They just watched the ads.

Now suddenly they became interested after hearing about them again, and almost all are running Firefox with ublock origin now.

YouTube should have just kept quiet, I don’t believe they are better off now more than before.

[DISCUSSION] What director(s) do you think have the best filmography?

I was checking out the new season of Fargo, which made me want to rewatch the 1996 movie and I got to thinking, the Coen Brothers have a fantastic filmography. They have way more hits than misses and they make some of the most interesting movies out there. No Country for Old Men is probably one of my favorites of all time. So...

leave_it_blank,

Wes Anderson and Christopher Nolan. Their movies always are subject to debate, but every single one was stuck in my mind after seeing them.

leave_it_blank,

Seriously, I loved Tenet! I had to watch it multiple times to finally understand how they moved through time relatively to the opposite side, what happened how, and it was fun and really well thought out. I loved this take on time travel!

Yes, you can understand the movie after watching it once. But there are so many little details that you won’t get if you don’t watch it multiple times, I had fun puzzling it together!

It’s in my top three of the Nolan movies! And the music was great, I did not mind that it was too loud!

leave_it_blank,

Regarding the dialogue: on my second watch (with subtitles) in the (few) scenes I wasn’t able to hear the dialogue clearly I realized it wasn’t relevant/important to the story. I believe these scenes were only about atmosphere, that was the moment I did not mind anymore and just enjoyed the bombastic sound scape.

leave_it_blank,

In Germany the streets are far too often a fight for survival. I miss the Netherlands, driving there, bike or car, was so much more relaxing.

But, you know, Germans and their cars…

leave_it_blank,

When do people finally realize that every human on this planet is equally worthless??

Except for Keanu Reeves. He’s awesome.

leave_it_blank,

I can’t answer that without HEAVY spoilers, so I won’t.

Edit: Just let me say I really liked how it ended.

leave_it_blank,

I must admit, when I got my 144hz monitor I was excited, coming from a 60hz monitor. But even if a game runs at 144 fps I don’t see much of a difference, many people do, but I don’t. It’s a bit smoother, but not much.

But if a game runs at 30 fps it’s horrible. The Crew, for example, can be switched to 30 or 60 fps, that’s night and day!

leave_it_blank,

Yes, many do. I’m just one of the unlucky ones. But at least I can see the difference between 1080p and 4k. It’s the little things in life…

leave_it_blank,

Yes, yes and yes :) But thank you, I’ve seen enough posts where people forgot it, so this suggestion definitely was worth mentioning!

leave_it_blank,

Yes, everything is configured correctly, but thank you, I too read often that people forget that, so it was the first thing after connecting the monitor I checked.

leave_it_blank,

It’s the Gigabyte M32U. It’s a good monitor, like I said it’s just me, some people just seem to not profit from it. It is a bit better than 60 Hz, but it’s not the big difference to me compared to 60.

I followed and tried many things from here: pcmonitors.info/reviews/gigabyte-m32u/, including overdrive. I bought a new cable, tinkered with the settings, both monitor and driver, it’s just me :) maybe it has to do with age!

leave_it_blank,

The monitor is working, like I said there is a difference to 60 Hz, it’s just not that big of a deal as I was expecting it to be. I don’t feel missing out when playing on my old 60 Hz. When I run the UFO test it’s visible it’s working, and the games I usually play reach high frame rates. I used the cable that came with the monitor and got a new one (primarily because the original cable was a bit too short), it’s on me.

But don’t get me wrong. The workspace alone was worth the upgrade, so I’m not depressed or something like that. And I have fun playing my games, and that’s what matters.

Thank you for your tips, I really appreciate it!!!

leave_it_blank,

Definitely do! It’s a fantastic parody of the 50s horror genre. It’s cheap, it’s ridiculous, it’s so much fun!

And the director is Joe Dante. Edit: Whoops, John Landis is the director. I always confuse those two.

leave_it_blank,

I just had the picture of Guybrush sitting at the fire with the two pirates from Monkey Island 2 in my mind, where he says “Have I told you the story when I made that meme back then?”

leave_it_blank,

“A bard, a druid, a sorcerer and a barbarian try to save a girl and in the end save the world.”

Answer: The last witch hunter 2015

Nope. I was asking for DnD Honour among thieves.

Which sequels/prequels/spinoffs made the originals somehow worse?

The Matrix is an often used example, but for me it’s the Alien Prequels - especially Alien: Covenant really makes the Original Alien much worse. When the original was released in 1979 it had the perfect Monster. A dangerous killing machine of unknown origin. The missing background of the alien is a big part of its scary mess....

leave_it_blank,

Yes, I hated that death too. Without it the movie would have been perfect!
