do you use windows for your gaming machine?
i had to install it on a family laptop because of some apps that worked on windows only. I wanted to install a locked-down version of it and came across reviOS. it’s a stripped down version of windows with cruft removed. it was very very fast(almost comparable to my Debian machine). perhaps it’d be of interest to you if you’re into privacy. An alternative to that is winutil, which is basically a script to debloat windows.

also, you’ve got nothing to hide. you aren’t the bad guy, right?

does it have to do with the name? first Sam Bankman-Fried, and now him lol. seeing his interviews makes me think he’s more of a wannabe cult-head guy, just like most of silicon-valley bros.

PS: seen his worldcoin thing? it’s whole another level of privacy nightmare.

I highly doubt that’d happen.

my theory: Microsoft will hire him and make him as their face of AI stuff.

and I don’t want an operating system that makes me feel its presence.

you can just download those via Microsoft’s website as vsix and import them to codium. and maybe add an issue/pr in extension’s repo so that it’s available on open-vsix next time. :)

on my office machine: I have Ubuntu(23.10) in its full glory. it is a good distro. I really enjoy gnome shell with Wayland.

on my home machine: I won’t let a single proprietary prpgram exist on my Debian. and the only wm would be i3(with xfce as a backup, and as a source of other common programs like terminal).

I’ve used mint in my university(default distro there), which I also enjoyed for its familiarity to users coming from proprietary operations systems.

my foray into GNU/Linux(from w*ndows) was thanks to Tails, which made me appreciate how different an OS can be(actually, my first computer had Ubuntu 4.10. the computer lasted for less than 2 years. hence I don’t count it).

and I’ve also helped many friends set-up distros like zorin and peppermint.

at the end of day, no matter the distro, it’s GNU/Linux. and that’s all that matters.

yes lol. became anxious fearing I’d miss it and hence made typos :')

it’s starship. you should check it out if you don’t have a handcrafted prompt.

edit: shell is bash. just with a custom prompt in .bashrc.

haven’t used KDE, but it really looks an ideal crash reporter. even has stars for quality of logs.

yes, there should be a description box for sending additional inputs from the user. like what were they trying to do.

but GNU/Linux developers are already saddled with a lot of work, and I don’t mind restarting the app at all. :)

thanks! never clicked that for fear that they’d do something similar to windows.
I’ll try it next time it comes up.

maybe there should be a third button for less confusion? or does it go against apple’s “design” principles? :p

looks much better than what I’d thought. thanks for sharing mate! BTW, the interface is in French, right?

update: doesn’t have button on my machine.
just two buttons: show/hide details, and report. can’t even go back or close it.

screenshot of pop-up after report was clickedsame poou-up, just expanded
