Ours does this too. Except they stick to their guns and we end up having to just work around the new impediment they’ve created for months until it happens to inconvenience someone with enough pull to make them change it.
I have too much other shit going on and can’t mentally set it all aside any more which keeps me from getting immersed in games. There’s just always something else in the back of my mind I’m also thinking about when I’m trying to play. I try getting everything done first so I can concentrate but there’s just so much.
I used to play magic with my friends when I was in school and we made the mistake of actually going to the game shop and trying to play with people there. We all got demolished by the tryhard dudes there because we just made decks with cards we thought were cool and they all knew the meta gaming stuff. On top of that they were assholes about it. We never tried that again.
I did manage to win one game with a combo I had that allowed me to generate an infinite number of 1/1 tokens but that was sheer luck.
A place I used to work at gave us big rolls of double sided velcro for cable management purposes. Me and another guy built a jig to split them in half so it was 1/4" instead of 1/2". Worked great and I still have a ton of those rolls we made from leaving it in my pocket at the end of the day. Very handy stuff to have around.
I tried that once. I literally showed him a picture. His response was to ask me what I was working on and then when I explained. He was like "oh you should do this instead and pointed me towards something that wouldn’t work for what I was trying to do at all. Then he argued with me about it. I was like… man just show me where this fucking item is I don’t give a shit about your opinions I know what I’m doing. He had no idea and I had to go find it myself.
