Would love to know what you guys think and your reasoning for it. I’m starting to see a lot of Apple Watches/Fitbits/Galaxy Watches in my area compared to more traditional timepieces.
I wear an automatic Seiko. I like that I don’t have to worry about a battery staying charged/wearing out over time. I just have to take a second every couple weeks to set it forward to account for it losing a few minutes. Another factor is when I looked at the smart watches that were available last time I got a new phone and they were all very large and I have small wrists which I don’t want to emphasize. My current watch fits well.
I would like to get a bracelet or something that tracks biometric data but from what I saw when I was investigating those is that they all have watch functionally as well and I don’t want to wear two watches.

And that’s fine (more or less, I wish people would be more responsible about using sources that frame things objectively rather than ones that are biased towards their opinion) on political communities. It’s annoying on communities that aren’t made for politics.

I once punched a dude that was fucking with me in the mouth right in the middle of science class while the teacher had her back to us. He just sat there with a stunned look on his face and stopped. Later after school I ran into him coming from the other direction while I was leaving and he was yelling threatening shit while we were approaching each other. I just kept quiet and kept walking towards him and when I got within speaking distance he said something like “you like punching people in the mouth?” and I was just like “yeah” and kept walking past him. I really thought he was going to attack me but he didn’t do anything and didn’t fuck with me after that.
Ran into that a few years ago. I think I ended up fixing it by booting linux off a flash drive and moving the partitions around in that. It wasn’t to difficult after I just gave up trying to do it in Windows. Such a stupid problem.

Double-sided Velcro works great for this. They sell pre cut strips but it’s cheaper to buy a whole roll of it and cut it as needed. I actually made a jig to cut the roll down the middle so I could get twice as much. I’m pretty much set for life on that stuff now.
No? The article says rich people are using 2x as much water as poor people - 50% vs 23% and they are already having water problems. Assuming the water consumption was evened out this leaves the population room to go up no more than 4x what it is now even with equal consumption. That’s hardly out of the realm of possibility considering the population already has gone up 8x since 1950
Water used for industry is still going to be used regardless of who controls that industry. Poor people can be just as greedy as rich ones, they just don’t have a means to act on it.
Population growth has slowed but it has not stopped. Even at 1 or 2 % per year it will be only a few generations before it becomes an issue. 1% of 6,000,000 people is a lot more than 1% of 600,000.

Wtf does that even mean?. The point is there will still be a demand for goods whether it’s produced by a farm/factory owned by one individual or a collective of workers. They’ll still be consuming the water.
That is one piss-poor justification for the status quo.
I’m not justifying anything. All I’m trying to do is explain to you that resources are finite and too many people will burn through them. If you don’t think poor people can be greedy and wasteful then I encourage you to get out more.

The only reason I ever hear for that is from racists because it’s the white people that slowed down the most. Population projections for the world do not show a decline. Unless of course you take the lack of resources into account…
