Oh yeah, I’m also keeping a eye on that. Every time I see nvidia pop up in my updates, I try logging into Wayland and doing my usual tasks. If it starts working, that’ll just let me extend the life of this card. I’ll probably still strongly consider switching flavors with my next card.
My kiddo and I are having a fruit and vegetable challenge. Each month we’ll seek out a fruit or vegetable we’ve never tried and taste it. My BFF is trying to walk all the greenways in our county (that is county not country, low stakes! Attainabl!). How about you?
I work in tech and am constantly finding solutions to problems, often on other people’s tech blogs, that I think “I should write that down somewhere” and, well, I want to actually start doing that, but I don’t want to pay someone else to host it....
I’ve been running a script every 60 seconds for 2 months now as a cron job and it still hasn’t been able to create a VM in their US datacenter. I just have a log full of “insufficient host capacity” errors.
That’s fair. If you decide you want to identify your religion as Pagan, you are free to do so. It is much less fitting for our beliefs, tenets, and morals than Satanism, but may be a better fit for your beliefs.
“These beings have documented a perfect understanding of warp core, matter transmission, and matter replication technologies, yet they refuse to actually use any them and are stuck on a single planet fighting wars over limited resources.”
What do you think Satanism is about? I model my behavior on a rational, scientific, and humanistic worldview and I fight against superstition. One of the predominant superstitious organisations in my country have a mythical being that espouses all of these same traits and they call it Satan. It’s convenient for us to refer to ourselves using their own language, so they instantly know we are against anti-humanism and superstitious oppression.
Just wanted to let you know I’ve had these books on my “to-read” stack for a few years now, and your comment got me to start reading them yesterday. They’ve already got me hooked, so thanks for the nudge!

It may be a regional thing. I learned English while I was in the states and we learnt “six hundred and fifteen” if you’re saying the digit-place words (hundred, thousand, etc), but “six fifteen” would also be correct. “Six hundred fifteen” was acceptable, but not preferred, and “six and fifteen” is not used.
Pretty much the title. I’ve been watching more realistic super hero shows like The Boys and Invincible. The reoccurring themes is that with great power comes great immorality....
I’m sorry, but you’re not taking this idea quite far enough. If all time stopped except for you, and you posit that everything else is rigidly fixed in place with no exceptions, you would instantly be turned into a fine mist as your body slams into the suddenly stationary earth or atmospheric molecules while your body is still traveling a couple million kilometers per hour relative to the rest of the universe.
I love cool whip. It’s magical! But I typically only have it two or three times a year in desserts when we have large family gatherings (every Thanksgiving and occasionally Christmas or Easter).
Nowadays I find a lot of games feel like too much work and/or anxiety when I just want to relax for like, 30 minutes to an hour after a long day. On the other hand, the games specifically designed to help you unwind just feel boring imo....
Happy new year of the Linux Desktop!
