@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml

Hi, I’m Miss Brainfart.

I’m afraid of sharks, with the exception being blåhaj. What could that possibly mean, huh.
(That’s not a hint, I genuinely have no idea)

Lemmings can also find me @miss_brainfart:catgirl.cloud on Matrix, if they desire to do so for e2ee reasons

I am actually using a degoogled phone, and the only thing I’m missing are push notifications, for one single app. Everything else I use works just fine for me, but as always, ymmv

And this is why I like Androids feature that automatically revokes permissions after a certain timeframe of not using an app

I mean, if anyone, Captain Lezbian is the person who needs to have one

Not just guys, let me tell you

40+ is where it gets really interesting, introducing the possibility of getting delirious with weirdly unsettling hallucinations.

Don’t fuel them by watching TV is all I’m gonna say.

never really bothered with the spinoffs, as the model of Arch makes them useless and more problematic to deal with

I highly enjoy using EndeavourOS. But then again, I wouldn’t classify it as a spinoff, it’s pretty much vanilla Arch, but purple.

Now Manjaro on the other hand… Tried it and understood why so many people don’t like it within the first week.

I only know Ohio as the state that will be invaded by femboys armed with Nerf guns, and a kiwi trans girl leading them

Say what you want, but a fever knocking you out and having you dream weird stuff is the best part about being sick

Full PGP support in Skiff (skiff.com)

We’ve heard our users loud and clear - interoperable end to end encryption (E2EE) across email providers is critical for privacy and security online. We have taken this feedback to heart. We are proud to announce support for PGP encryption inside Skiff mail starting today for all users across all tiers, including Free.

Well damn, this is great. Too many private email providers still do their own thing in terms of encryption, so that is awesome to hear

And brings the most recent version of something to any system. I’m astounded sometimes by how much a native package can lag behind

One of the big organs of the EU deliberately breaking EU law. Always cool when that happens.

Although, they’ve proven themselves to be so incompetent, I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t actually know EU law.

They might not know know, but there sure can be a lot of meta data one can use to determine that a person goes to school, where it might be, and what school it most likely is.

Or someone else straight up posted the information publicly. That’s always a possibility you have to consider.

Either way, isolating certain websites and services from each other and/or the rest is certainly a good practice to limit what they can gather about you. If you don’t do that already, that is.

Okay, the funniest part about this is that even with all the bullshit Twitter/X does nowadays, those ads actually violated their terms, too.

That is hysterical.

Dear EU Commission: What the actual fuck.

That would explain the joy I’m feeling when using my PC

One of the reasons why I like my desktop PC so much is that both webcam and mic sit in a drawer and are only plugged in for when I actually need to use them.

Android at least has the setting in developer options to disable sensors, which includes gyroscope, camera, mic and gps, I believe.

But core system services still have permission to override this setting. Which makes sense, you don’t want your dialer app to break when calling emergency services.

But it does make me think, is Androids’ sandboxing of an app enough to prevent it from abusing this possibility?

miss_brainfart,
@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml avatar

Hell yeah, and always make sure to snap a few pics for the collection

All I’m doing is hiding in bushes to look at tits, what’s so wrong about that?

The icons don’t all speak the same language, true. Some are way more elaborate and detailed than others, which just makes them look off.

Maybe the library could be a single book instead of an entire bookshelf, for example?

miss_brainfart,
@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml avatar

Absolutely, permissions should be disabled by default, and only when the app needs to do something that requires a certain permission should it ask for it.

Maybe even do something like Android, where permissions automatically get revoked if you don’t use an app for a certain time. I love that feature.

I somehow managed to avoid excel my entire life, and I’ll be so lost whenever using it is actually going to be required of me

miss_brainfart,
@miss_brainfart@lemmy.ml avatar

Why even use the offical site or app anyway?

Yes, but also: Every little bit of help, well… helps.

Don’t let those industries playing the blame game discourage you from dedicating a part of your yard to a bunch of flowers, because then the problem would get ever so slightly worse.
