It’s not too make money but they still need money to run it, and in a lot of places a significant portion of that comes from fares. If they’re replacing all of it with money coming from elsewhere then great.
Making it free just for residents is an interesting choice. I guess the argument is that they’re paying taxes to cover the use while non residents are, but then you have to maintain all of the ticketing infrastructure for much lower revenue. They’ve also banned taking bikes on the trams as part of this, which isn’t great.
“Retouching” is a very polite way to put it. I’m not commenting on the content, but I think it is worth pointing to the original video so they can have the views instead.
Are escooters a “very big source of traffic accidents”? I’m sure there have been crashes and there should be regulations, but are these crashes just much more publicised than car crashes and that’s why you think there’s been a lot?
I find the language you use interesting. Those who take their living room with them to save a few minutes “benefit”, whereas those who have to breathe in the fumes and be victims of traffic violence are “inconvenienced”.
