paddirn,

Meh. If it didn’t start after Jan 6 and Trump’s first term (when he had the seemingly best chance to do it), I’m not so sure it would start now (if he loses again).

If he wins, we’re headed down the path of a dictatorship and maybe we have something happen then, but him losing is just gonna be a bunch of MAGAts whining some more.

paddirn, (edited )

That’s not to say we’re not on the precipice of fascism. That he even has a decent chance of winning the presidency again after that shit show of a first term shows how unbelievably stupid a good portion of Americans are, but they’re also goddamn cowards who won’t do shit if Trump loses, other than piss and whine. “Violence” if he loses is going to be a tantrum.

I’m probably the biggest simpleton in this thread, but I was just looking at this earlier and TiddlyWiki still seems like the easiest of the easiest. It’s literally just an html file that requires pretty minimal setup to get going. Nothing else seems to even come close. I’ve been using it for a couple of years as a sort of internal departmental job aid, just basic information for our group and it’s pretty straight-forward.

Is that how he got into bed with her or he’s just thinking about talking when he should be having sex?

In the moment, when I’m actually talking to a woman (or any person), it’s not really what I’m thinking about, but I do think about their anatomy and sex with a good number of women throughout the day. Just brief flashes of possible moments. Thinking about sex and talking at the same though is alot of processing power, I can’t do two things at once like that. Women though, are good at multi-tasking, so I assume they’re more likely than men to do that.

paddirn,

I don’t think there’s any Federal laws against it, but the closest I can think of is that in many states there’s laws against price gouging in some situations (after a state of emergency has been declared, may only apply to certain essential goods/services), here’s a FAQ on California’s anti-price gouging laws:

oag.ca.gov/consumers/pricegougingduringdisasters

paddirn,

But they did alter it further, the scene doesn’t match the dialogue.

paddirn,

Where’s his mankini? I don’t remember Leia walking around topless.

paddirn,

“Oh god, what did Riker stick his dick in this time?”

“come up with a funny comment to post on lemmy”

“Sure, I can try to generate a funny comment for you. Lemmy is a federated link aggregator and discussion platform, similar to Reddit. Here are some possible comments you can post on lemmy:

  • I just joined lemmy and I’m loving it. It’s like reddit, but without the ads, censorship, and corporate overlords.
  • Lemmy is the best thing since sliced bread. Literally. I haven’t eaten anything since I discovered this site.
  • How do you pronounce lemmy? Is it leh-mee, lee-mee, or lay-mee? I need to know before I start a podcast about it.
  • Lemmy is so addictive, I can’t stop browsing it. I’ve been on it for 12 hours straight. Send help. And upvotes.
  • I’m new to lemmy and I have a question. How do I get karma? Do I need to post memes, cat pictures, or political opinions? Or do I just need to be nice and helpful?

I hope you find these comments amusing and suitable for lemmy. 😄”

paddirn,

I actually wonder what a purely AI/ChatGPT community would look like (no human posts/comments allowed), would they eventually start to develop their own weird culture, memes, inside comment jokes that nobody would even understand? There’d be like a picture of a tire and a rubber ducky with the text reading “Five fingers / garden hose” and all the comments would be things like “The wombat, in ascension, remembers. Nautilus.” Like how fucking weird would they get without human intervention?

paddirn,

Hell, it doesn’t even have to be UBI, just some assistance during Covid would’ve been nice. That one random $1500 check was treated like it was a king’s random and it was probably less than one month’s rent for alot of people.

paddirn,

I like how he pulls out “If nbc news is saying…” and the posted link goes right to Time.com, not even taking into account the data source which is listed right under the graph in that section of the article. Arguing with these MAGA people is useless because they’re not even doing any basic research, they’re just knee-jerk reacting to whatever liberal source they think it comes from. They spread fecal matter from their mouths and their fingertips everytime they talk or write and somehow it becomes everybody else’s responsibility to clean up their shit arguments.

paddirn,

Obviously the best way to stop stressing is to start up a new, completely unrelated task. You’ll definitely finish this other task and carry that momentum forward to finish the original task. Rinse and repeat as many times as necessary.

paddirn,

Maybe you should try taking up rock collecting? Seems like the perfect opportunity to start a new hobby.

paddirn,

Micro-organisms taking a shit on our teeth doesn’t cause cavities.

paddirn,

I’m not even colorblind and I’m pretty sure I’m seeing it right, I struggled a bit to see what the wrong way to see it was.

paddirn,

Can we go back to 2014? That was a good year for me.

paddirn,

That’ll be the night you can’t fall sleep til 4am, alarm clock doesn’t go off, and traffic is fucked everywhere along your commute. Just do your future self a solid and get it done the night before. Future You will thank Past You.

paddirn,

Oddly specific playlist. I looked it up and went through the songs, kind of a weird mix that swings wildly between genres. They were definitely just going after song titles to match the theme. On one extreme, there’s a soft Dolly Parton song and some other kind of very calm relaxing songs, next to death metal and punk on the other end, it’s very much all over the place.

paddirn,

I get what you’re saying, IMO “subtitle” should be what is being referred to in the post, a sort of secondary title, whereas the text on screen for translations shouldn’t also be called subtitles, just “captions” is fine, yet they’re commonly called subtitles, who the hell came up with that?

Being an American though, we just call them chips or fries. We may not have much else going for us here, but at the very least we have unambiguous names for our potato snacks.

paddirn,

It’s basically a set of IRL crossover episodes. I’m assuming in at least some cases it’s manufactured for the views.
