pascal,

Imagine the amount of EV cars we could charge with a half functioning dyson ring…

pascal,

Btrfs can do that, but the CPU load would be uncomfortable.

pascal,

Final fantasy 7 was 3 CD on PlayStation and 4 CD-ROMs for the windows version.

I know, I was there.

pascal,

Yeah, tell him.

I like that all my different vegetables taste like cinnamon and curry.

pascal,

Savage but fair.

pascal,

You have to be a better vegan than them.

Didn’t you know? Todd’s vegan!

pascal,

It’s not just culture, or itch, or whatever.

I just love the taste of meat! My body craves for it. But if I can keep that delicious flavour in my plate without killing an animal, that’s great!

pascal,

I have a very, very old italian recipe book that my mom used when she was younger. I’m talking about 1980 edition. The book is about 200 recipes, 200 different names and a lot of different types of pasta. The last page, there’s this one, single recipe, simply called “The vegetarian recipe” and that’s all. Made me laugh and think that today would never be allowed to be printed this way.

pascal,

You think leather is a desire?

You think people kill animals to obtain leather because it’s cool?

Leather has many purposes and advantages, it’s economically and practically sane to use it or mimick its features, even with fake leather.

A desire, he said… Sometimes I don’t get people anymore.

pascal,

Nothing against people who prefer meat substitutes

That’s good.

I do think they should be brave and just abandon meat altogether

That’s bad.

Now, firstly, thank you for defining a lot of people cowards.

Secondly, while I like indian food, I like meat more. And I liked it since forever. If I can have the delicious taste of meat in my plate without killing an animal, that’s great. Fantastic! I’m eagerly waiting for lab crafted meat any day. I’m willing to pay it more than real meat, because I’m not fond of killing living beings to eat them. But if that’s not yet possible, I’d still have my steak and my hamburger.

pascal,

Turkey (lots and lots of meat): 78 years.

Life expectancy is not a good scale.

pascal,

What’s on and around line 32 in the config?

{% if lemmy_env_vars is defined and lemmy_env_vars|length > 0 %}

I did the ansible install, other than mail setup, the instructions were easy to follow.

you’re not the first suggesting this. Some guides I’ve found online suggest to use the Ansible files “because they’re less broken”.

At this point I’m wondering if the documentation is bad “on purpose” to prevent too many script kiddies to install their own instance.

pascal,

Nope, the documentation suggests 3 ways for installation: from scratch, docker and ansible.

I tried both from scratch and docker and I’m stuck. Eventually I’ll try the ansible way, but first I have to learn ansible…

I’m far from not disappointed.

pascal,

I interact less on Lemmy compared to Reddit, mostly because people here seem to be very vocal and polarised, so every time I have a notification in Lemmy I start groaning “oh god what did I say this time?”

But still, Lemmy is the cradle of humankind and wisdom, compared to Instagram and Facebook.

pascal,

$10 for an album? You lucky dog, here one album CD costs at that time around $25.

pascal,

Does anyone remember when marijuana.com allowed to create a free email?

pascal,

Do we really need extreme politics in a meme community?

pascal,

I think it’s better from a polluting point.

Nothing underground generates oxygen, but moving the roads from above to underground gives more “it’s free real estate” to grow grass and trees, like in the second photo, which generates oxygen and stores carbon. It’s not the best thing like suppressing the cars all together, but it’s better than the first picture.
