Meanwhile the KDE settings panel has been designed and redesigned like 20 times in the past 20 years. Much better, but also… Dude, please focus more on stability and less on “let’s redo this from scratch again!”
That was me about 22 years ago already. I’ve had a Linux desktop for 22 years and anytime I see a windows desktop I’m just wondering why anyone would accept such trash…
I’m from the other side, though. I’m a developer and systems administrator on Kubuntu and I live by the command line. I use yakuake, which is totally awesome, and have about 50 or so shells open pretty much permanently, all nicely tucked away in tabs and sub sections in a programmable drop down that automatically starts all those command line shells when my computer boots. It’s pure awesomeness, Linus os pure awesomeness!
This is what Republicans love, hence all the rheeeeeeing about it.
Transgenders in bathrooms? OMG OMG, RIOT! Forget that we’re robbing you blind, making everyone poor and ruining the Country, focus on the next tiny insignificant issue that no one really cares about!
Even the illegal immigration thing is nothing but a diversion. There are issues die to immigration in the US being handled horrible, but that is by design, they want something to point at.
Ubuntu. Started out great but every release got worse with time.
I’ve always used KDE, so always was on kubuntu, or mint, but my latest kubuntu install managed to piss me off badly with its systemd taking over. A simple 10 seconds port=number config in sshd_config change now requires 20 minutes of searches, documentation readup, cursing, and jumping systemd hoops
FUCK systemd
Also FUCK SNAP. Absolute horrid garbage.
My next distro will be debian or some derivative, bye bye Ubuntu
Could (a) god(s) exist? Possibly, it’s hard to rule out the supernatural in natural terms since it’s SUPERnatural
Could the universe be a simulation? Possible too, but also on of those things that’s almost impossible to prove.
At the same time, it could be that your e a Boltzmann brain, and that literally nothing existed before and that your brain just kinda formed together spontaneously with all your memories.
All those are possible options that are over 99% likely to be false, but their cooouuullldd be true.
Point is not to rearrange your life on the off changlce that one of those are true. Especially religion, since religions tend to be “believe our particular god(s) or you go to hell for eternity” followed closely by “if you don’t believe our particular god(s) we will help you go to hell right now”. Nearly all human conflicts in Earth’s history were either based on religion or used religion as a tool to whip up the masses to go kill the others.
There are also hundreds of Gods and over 3000 different religious figures out there and they’re all pretty much exclusive or, they all claim to be the right one and the rest is wrong. Bold claim to make when it’s all based off goat herders texts that were first abused for a completely different god (hello, Christianity!) and constantly conflicts with each other.
Simulation theory and Boltzman brain ideas are fun to entertain and talk and think about, but they’ve never been used to control who can love and have sex with who, they’ve never been a used whereas religion just IS abuse and control in every way possible.
Don’t get too high hopes about people until you really know them. So it was the best sex ever? Cherish that memory but don’t stop living. And 2017, and you’re still not over that? Really dude (or dudette?), don’t just get over that, get over yourself. Stop stop living, start living. Take risks, get hurt. Yes, you’ll get some bruises along the way, it will build character, you will learn and improve until you find that perfect person and by then it will not only be that that person is perfect for you, you will then also finally be perfect for that person because honestly right now you don’t sound perfect for anybody. Don’t that that last bit wrong, it just means you gotta work on yourself. Relationships are a lot of work, I spent huge amounts of time on reflecting, thinking about how I can make my wife smile, trying to improve myself, etc…
I make a point of it to smile. Every. Single. Time. That. I. See. Her. I do anyway because she’s fucking gorgeous, but even so, i make sure. It makes her day multiple times per day, and seeing her smile makes me smile even more. A real relationship is a lot of work and it’s so damn worth it, but you gotta be ready for it too. If you’re not willing to do the work now how are you supposed tondo the work once you find that special someone?
You gotta get out there, and get hurt. It’s part of the process. I got hurt (and unfortunately hurt others myself) on multiple occasions and I’m fine. You’ll be fine. It sucks in the moment, but you process it, give it a space somewhere in your memories and you go on to the next one. Believe me, you will get hurt a few more times (and build great memories in the process too, by the way, let’s not forget that), you will learn what to do, what not to do, you’ll learn not to immediately get strung up by the first girl and declare her your undying love within 5 minutes of meeting her, that usually doesn’t end well. Also not the second girl, nor the third , and not within 5 minutes… after a while you’ll find that super special one.
like that you will get better because it’s not only about the others, its about you too. Grow up.
As long as you stay safely on your shelter, you will stay alone for your entire life. If that’s what you want, fine. But I think it’s not, so this year go out, get out, take risks, get hurt, be happy.
