Not even walker. They just had to mind the dogs, but they got fired from that job because they were sleeping on the job, then were bewildered that they got fired.
Now you’re reminding me of my uncle and his multiple hernias. He waited for years to get them taken care of because he didn’t want to have to deal with the recovery time.
None of the design elements work with each other, to start with. Then it’s like after the fact, some shmuck from the propaganda office told the architects to stick a stupid looking fighter jet in there. It’s like a weak man’s idea of a strong design.
It’s nuts how short people’s memory is. It was just a few years ago that yahoos were invading our nation’s Capitol and Trump was orchestrating a coup. Now Republicans are trying to convince everyone that wasn’t really a coup, and have you considered BLM and scary trans people? Meanwhile the Trump camp has their 900 page plan to efficiently make the federal government into a right wing arm of the Republican Party.
If you’ve never met or contacted your representatives, that’s likely by your own choice. They generally make themselves fairly available to some degree.
And as far as I’m aware, PLO just wants the two-state solution and haven’t officially sanctioned terrorist attacks in ages.
That’s… complicated. There is a fund that the PA pays the PLO to administer called the Palestinian Authority Martyrs Fund. It pays out stipends to the family of Palestinians who have been killed, imprisoned, or hurt while attacking Israel. This has been a point of contention for a long time, but it’s apparently very popular among Palestinians so politicians are loath to touch it.
I used it on an old potato chip of a Pentium 4 (this was nearly 20 years ago). It took days to compile what I wanted, which was a basic system plus KDE. I don’t know what was going through my 17 year old brain. But hey, it walked me through some details of a Linux system that I wouldn’t have encountered otherwise. Now I would recommend Linux From Scratch for learning and a nice, stable distro with a large, supportive community for a daily driver.
Now fairy tales, that’s where the brutality comes in. Ever heard of “The Death of the Little Hen” collected by the Grimm brothers? The last line is, I kid you not, “and then everyone was dead”. Gotta get those kiddos used to pandemics and family sized tombstones.
I was recently trying to talk a person online out of marrying someone once the two of them are both 18. It’s partly because they’re head-over-heels in love with their partner and partly to move out of the US to Canada to escape their trans hostile state. They are trans and their partner helped them through some rough patches. The couple is only now meeting in person for the first time after three years. It was a little frustrating talking to them because I’m a naturally cautious person. My husband and I took about five years from first date to cohabiting to wedding. They honestly sounded like your stereotypical love sick teenager.
I would agree with the general judgement of this cartoon. There’s going to be some survivor bias for marriages that worked young. I know a woman who married a man who was in his 50’s when she was 18, right out of high school. When he died, she never remarried. But you never hear much about the marriages where an 18-year-old deemed themselves “more mature than those other girls/boys” and it turned into a disaster. They typically don’t last that long and no one wants to talk about them much.
