potustheplant, to movies in Seems we've already got the plot for Barbie II

Beause it’s a better movie. Because he was better than other male actors in movies from 2023. That last one I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Which movie was nominated because of its “social impact”?

They literally compete in different categories and an actress from Barbie did get nominated. The ones that didn’t weren’t snubbed, other women got their place because they were better. Simple as that.

You said it, it was a cultural phenomenom, not a great movie. Those are two very separate, very different things. That does not mean that the director of the movie was great. It’s more closely related to what Barbie already means (socially) and the marketing campaign.

Awesome, thanks for making that clear. Now, which other females do you think should’ve been nomimated? Because if there aren’t any, she was simply beat out by other directors.

Ok. Which directors do you think were snubbed?

potustheplant, to fuck_cars in Gen Z is choosing not to drive

I really don’t agree. Young people still like to be able to move around freely and “the internet” is not the same as phisically going to bar, roadtrip, etc. In my opinion, nowadays people mostly don’t buy cars because A) they can’t afford it and B) we’re more nevorinmentally conscious.

And it still does…

Not quite. It shows the online status for the people that are in that channel. Not all users are in all channels so, imo, it makes sense. The only complaint I can think of is that you can’t see the status for all of the people in a server.

There’s a chevron next to the channel name, indicating that you can get more details if you tap that. I get that it’s a significant design change but I don’t think it’s that unintuitive.

Argentina, unfortunately.

I was just in Japan and how safe it was blew my mind.

potustheplant, to programmer_humor in Bill is a pro grammer

Books can be modular as well (ever heard of “Rayuela” by Cortazar?) But that’s beside the point. The analogy is fine and it works.

That’s like saying a book’s synopsis shouldn’t exist because you can just read the whole book. Sometimes comments can save you a lot of time and point you in the right direction.
