The lawnmower has a five foot diameter plastic sphere in which the rider sits on an air foam cushioned seat. It has its own electric generating system for operating running lights, a radio telephone, air conditioning and even a cooling system to provide a chilled drink on a hot day. It can be used for many purposes. It can mow the lawn, weed it, feed it, seed it, spray for insects, plow snow and haul equipment. It can even be used as a golf cart.

I’m assuming this is because the concept of absolute zero did not exist when most of these temperature scales were defined, whereas zero distance and zero weight were easily observable

There are roughly 2,200,000 known animal species, and 400,000 of those are just beetles. Entomologists estimate there are 10 quintillion insects on Earth

This is one reason why black children are killed by police at higher rates than other races, because they often look older than they actually are and people/police assume they’re adults when they are not

Outside of maybe Hexbear and Lemmygrad, which I blocked some time ago, I don’t encounter these extreme opinions much at all here. How are you justifying painting the entire fediverse with such a broad brush?

Pretty sure they would’ve accepted a current prescription too, from your current sleep doc. I had a really old prescription too and had no issues with my current doc handling the paperwork

My best friends don’t have kids so they usually come to me, but they also have their own lives so I don’t want to bother them

Did your best friends indicate you’re bothering them? If not, where did this narrative come from, that you’re bothering them? I’d wonder if this is just in your head and if it’s preventing you from reaching out more often.

protist, to lemmybewholesome in You have a point

It’s hard to overstate the impact self-talk has on mental health. I work in the field and can tell you people who accept that they influence their own mood have much better outcomes than people who don’t. People on average really struggle to accept that they have any control over their own well-being, and many build their self-concepts around external factors making them a certain way, so there’s nothing to do but continue being that way. This is a super common mindset when it comes to depression in particular
