ryannathans, to science_memes in 6/10

Yeah but there’s 101 ways to do that, are they expecting a 10 lol

ryannathans, to linuxmemes in Look at that fragmentation!

Plus it’s slow as shit typically

ryannathans, to memes in Remember when everything was so blocky?

If it weren’t for firefox, we’d be stuck with a lot of shit

ryannathans, (edited ) to linux in How many of you run a Linux phone (Pine64, Librem etc) as your daily driver?

Motorola edge 30 runs just fine and has done practically since it launched, typing this on it now

ryannathans, to piracy in I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."

Cryptographic licence verification so you can play the game, say for example to use online services. Allows you to trade that licence to other people directly, no third party involvement to facilitate the trade. The game would pick it up and work. Anyone could download the game files but they only work if you own the game either by buying off someone directly or an official publisher

You’re talking about media linked to by existing NFTs. You can’t copy an NFT and use it, you don’t have the cryptographic keys to mint more. There is a finite number.

NFTs cannot have copies made (apart from by the publisher) and are ideally suited to this problem

ryannathans, to linux in I created a shitty Python script to manage multiple SSH connections because I couldnt find a decent one

Wrap a nice ssh config manager around kitty ssh sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/kittens/ssh/ and it’d be pretty slick

ryannathans, to memes in Lets be realistic

You can destroy them by crashing into them so I wonder if a size 10 bomb would work? Armageddon style

ryannathans, to selfhosted in Sanity check - is rsyncing to a remote computer that has zfs snapshotting an okay way to back things up?

You don’t sync the deletion of snapshots, you use expiry on the remote

ryannathans, to lemmyshitpost in The true way

Nice

ryannathans, to piracy in Amazon clearly lying about "ownership" on Prime.

No, there are no push notifications. I think it uses periodically refreshed RSS feeds

ryannathans, to linuxmemes in Hot take

I RDP to a windows machine to work, from Pop_OS!. It’s nice because all the little stuff like web browsing can be done in my linux environment

ryannathans, to linux in Trouble with Handbrake, PopOS and Accelerated AV1

What if that process had multiple streams to decode/encode?
