sbv, to memes in I never learn my lesson

It’s D&D. A game played with friends who have their own likes and dislikes. But sometimes they like the wrong thing.

Risa is a great community. I don’t post there, but I enjoy the memes.

sbv, to memes in They don't understand. We built these machines so that we can work more.

I’ve changed my mind, I think I’ll just take the four day work week, thank you.

sbv, to privacy in why don't you guys scrobble?

They sell (sold?) the recommendation API. When you scrobble, last.fm got to build a corpus of data they could make recommendations from.

sbv, to privacy in Does it even make sense to care about privacy?

Pretty much this. I get the “you don’t know what the bad guys will criminalize next” argument, but I have a hard time seeing it, when it comes to my browsing patterns.

sbv, to asklemmy in How would you go about a low maintenance personal website today?

That’s totally understandable.

I self hosted a blog for a while. Tweaking it was fun, but eventually the novelty wore off. If I ever do it again, I’d probably use something hosted so I spend more time on the content instead of the back end.

This is why we need AI

sbv, to asklemmy in Forgive me, but…

Isn’t that only if both posts are on the same server?

sbv, to asklemmy in What's your favorite thing to dream about?

What about flying tiddies?

sbv, to asklemmy in Have you ever come across some sort of container or organizer for anything that ended up being strangely useful?

Before I had a car with a remote, I really liked Keyport organizers. They’re a good way to stop keys from getting clanky and stabby in your pocket. And they have a snazzy flashlight and pocket knife. They’re a fun fidget too.

sbv, to risa in What's next?

no

sbv, to asklemmy in What cheap tool/gadget do you use that greatly improves your daily life?

Now that I’m using a knock box, it’s easy to compost the grounds.

sbv, to asklemmy in What cheap tool/gadget do you use that greatly improves your daily life?

I have an espresso maker. Knocking the coffee grounds into the garbage was kind of gross. So I got a cheap knock box to kick the puck out was a really nice treat.

And the espresso maker too, I guess. Being able to make a fresh, hot Americano in a couple of minutes is great.

sbv, to dadsplain in Any dads here lonely?

100% this. I’ve started playing online games with friends, which gets some interaction in.

But like others are saying: handoff when you can.

sbv, to asklemmy in What are some interesting thinking skills or strategies you've picked up from programming (or anywhere else, but try to stick to programming for now)

It’s installed on a slight angle, so water pools in the soap holders and around the back of the faucet. If we don’t keep it dry, pools fill with gunge.
