scytale,

Machete - versatile for protection, hunting, cooking

Water purifier - no explanation needed

Night vision goggles maybe? - more discrete than a flashlight

Jeep - but you know that thing will break down pretty quickly

scytale,

Man, I don’t remember the exact model, but it was a newer black Nokia phone I think. I remember the one before it though, the OG Motorola Razr flip phone.

scytale,

You’re correct in that you shouldn’t mess with the DNS settings when on the vpn. Off vpn, I have had good experiences with Control D ans Aha Blitz on browsers and mobile, with the latter allowing you to actually select the granular filter lists yourself. I recently switched to Mullvad’s DoH though and it’s been good so far

scytale,

How’s the legroom in the second row? I love the aesthetic of the Santa Cruz and that it’s not an obnoxiously large truck while still capable of hauling and towing stuff. I did notice that the space inside looks pretty tight.

scytale,

I’ve used Aha and ControlD for the longest time, and just recently switched to Mullvad’s new DoH service.

scytale,

Because I can go through Hot and Top for 6/12 hours in a couple of hours with how the community here is still pretty small.

DoH blocker for IOS: Mullvad or Aha DNS Blitz

So I prefer to use a DNS blocker (DoH) on my IOS devices to block ads, malware, and trackers. For the longest time I’ve been using Aha DNS Blitz because it allows you to choose the exact filter lists you want to enable. Recently I saw Mullvad now has their own DoH service as well and I’m trying it out now. It’s not as...

scytale,

Yup I understand that. I’m primarily asking what the community thinks is a better DNS blocker between Aha Blitz and Mullvad’s, both of which provide DNS blocking over https.

scytale,

There are a couple that I would put in the same tier, but the one that hasn’t been mentioned yet is True Detective.

scytale,

This is the reason I wash rice. Empty hulls, dirt, and bugs naturally float so it’s easier to take them out. We use brown or red rice so it’s not as “clean” as polished white rice. Also, even if the study says washing doesn’t do anything, the fact that the water turns a different color when rinsing shows that something gets removed when washing.

scytale,

Wow I didn’t know it was that long. I’ll have to set aside some proper watch time for this.

What are some easy ways that you can improve energy efficiency and be more eco-friendly in your rental apartment?

For starters, you can add weather stripping to outside-facing doors and windows. If your landlord doesn’t want to pay for it, then it can be found cheaply on aliexpress. Also, add insulation outside-facing switch covers and outlet plates.

scytale,

Indeed. The one I use is black on one side and reflective on the other. It also uses suction cups, so I can easily put them on and remove anytime.

scytale,

Policy holder: I’ve paid thousands over the years and you won’t help me until I pay another few thousands out-of-pocket first?

scytale,

I’m not on Mastodon often, but Tusker has been adequate for me on IOS. I heard you can even use it for Pixelfed.
