I changed my PC pretty extensively since the last time I played, but on my old setup with pretty middle of the road hardware and Windows 10, it fired right up.

I’ll try it again on the new setup and report back.

A complete coincidence, as Vader was not intended to be Luke’s father when A New Hope was written.

Heck, I’m pretty sure “Darth” was actually just supposed to be his first name. Sith titles weren’t considered at all. The concept of Sith didn’t even solidify until after Return Of The Jedi had been released.

The reveal in Empire is one of the biggest retcons in movie history.

If he really wants to watch Phantom Menace first, I suppose it would work if you jump from it to A New Hope.

If he is truly ignorant of Vader being Anakin, he’ll see a movie with kid Anakin, followed by a movie with old Obi-Wan lamenting how Vader killed Anakin at some point in the prequels, leaving the big reveal in place. Maybe actually making it better in some ways.

Honestly I don’t think Rogue One is worth watching. It’s pretty, but was very meddled with. I would highly recommend perhaps putting the Andor show in place instead of it. Either way, watching these after Episode 1 makes sense to me.

Then do the normal Machete Order.

If he doesn’t remember that the Han Solo movie exists, don’t remind him.

Of course that’s a BIG commitment. The sane way is to convince him just to watch the original trilogy first and the rest if he likes it.

The general public tends to make snap impressions. Even if this was how a CVC looked on a real tanker, people weren’t looking at them side by side. The photo op was a very transparent attempt to “look tough” by someone who simply didn’t, and probably shouldn’t have tried to do so.

That aside, his liner at least does seem about a size too large. The liner is massive and because of that, the CVC shell’s lip is about even with the top of his head. As opposed to a properly fitting CVC, the lip of the shell just about touching the top of the eyebrows:

Finally, for some reason Dukakis also has the chinstrap hanging off of his lower lip instead of his chin, which isn’t helping.

It’s just crazy that the plane in the movie was not just a drawing board design taken from history, but the real thing had actually flown and actually impressed the Japanese military with its capability. Usually weird WW2 designs in movies either never existed outside of blueprints, or didn’t work in real life.

Good context. All true, the M3 was indeed kludged together in a very short time after America didn’t invest a lot into interwar tank design.

In addition, the configuration of putting the main gun in the hull was not unprecedented. The French Char B1 did the same thing, and it was considered a very capable tank, even by the Germans up against in in 1940.

If you put yourself in the mindset of a 1930s designer trying to figure out the role of a tank and assuming a kind of breakthrough role, it does make sense to put the lighter weapon meant to target more mobile targets on a traversing turret and the heavier weapon for targeting heavy defensive positions in the hull rather than trying to figure out how to fit such a large gun into a turret.

Keeping in mind that the Uzi was concealed in a briefcase, making overall length a limiting factor, the choice is not strange for the early 1980s.

The Uzi has a ten inch barrel despite its very compact size, and a controllable 600RPM. And there’s no rule in real life that says it has to be fired on full auto.

The natural competition that comes to mind would be an MP5K. However it has no stock, a 4.5 inch barrel, and a higher full auto rate of fire. That variant had also only been introduced a few years before.

The USSS did eventually adopt MP5A3s/MP5A5s and P90s but those are carried more openly with less emphasis on concealment, at least within the restraint of a briefcase carry like in the Reagan era.

Other than the Uzi, many weapons would seemingly be too large for the desired concealment (carbines), too foreign (Skorpion machine pistols for example), or straight up inferior (MAC-10s). Of what’s left, the Uzi is not going to be outlandish in comparison.

Is there a link source to the body text?

I am curious how far this idea went in testing, and what if any scenario was conceived for this. I know the U.S. was staring down the idea of a tank rush in Europe at the time, but even as a last ditch weapon, this seems far fetched.

Most anti-tank grenades come with cute little parachutes with the most ideal deployment being tossed from above, from a building or bridge.
