I have a concoction of devices from all kind of manufacturers with cryptic codes in their names. Each device exposes multitude of sensors which makes the dashboard look like a mess....
As a side note, I really wish folders were implemented for devices and automations and such. Especially since I have a scene controller (and another on the way) with several buttons, each of which can have 6 different triggers (pressing 1-5 times or holding the button down). Oh, and more for the LEDs.
I’m all for choice or whatever, but a simple system-provided calculator should be benign and lightweight enough to be there and coexist with any competing calculator app without much drawback. Like a clock or web browser.
I was in rural India for a friend’s wedding. They set up a giant tent pavilion to use as a dining hall, with fans hanging from the top. This was a ways away from the main house, but there were some power lines nearby so they just got power straight from the grid.
Also, day of the wedding, there was a large sound system for the musicians and priest. All the components were plugged into a power strip, which was powered by a couple loose wires stuffed into an outlet

Yeah, “air conditioning powered by solar/wind/hydro” can feel like it’s one big Rube Goldberg machine to make air cool, but the reality is that it comes together to make something that can scale really easily. I can’t imagine coming up with a design like what’s in OP for an apartment complex or condo building.
