sqgl,

There are a lot of processes which Android doesn’t let you run anymore, eg how much CPU each app is using.

sqgl,

I don’t understand how to install it. Looked in Google Play store but didn’t find it there.

I think you mean 12ft. It was shut down by the ISP about a week ago.

Is this the same guy resurrecting 12ft? Who owned the domain?

sqgl,

Really? I know they used to be an RSS feed where you could search for the mp3 name. I find it is a lot harder nowadays because the actual name is hidden via css.

They all want user stats which is what they get when we use an app to access the feed.

sqgl,

Should, would, could. AI is trained on what it scrapes off the internet. It is only feeding the Augmented Idiocy which is already a problem.

sqgl,

Maybe by reading multiple translations you can at least narrow down to which the problematic passages are so then you could concentrate on them with a fluent Hebrew speaker.

I know one but it is hard to get him to stop once he gets started and he is right wing (I am left) so I don’t want to listen to his preaching. Nevertheless if you give me a specific question I will ask.

sqgl,

Clearly I need to read up more on the Antisemitism. You have inspired me.

Your TV sounds like comedy. Yes it is indeed a shame you didn’t record it. Two in a short period of special but in future even if you could capture don’t individual occurrences it would make for a wonderful compilation. Perhaps they people running the ticker are hoping someone like you will do just that?

sqgl,

Speaking of dodgy politicians: this ex lawyer-soldier pointed out how Australian military commanders were behaving illegally in Afghanistan and only acting to please politicians who in turn were only concerned with their own popularity (measured by polling).

Nothing he said was untrue, but instead of investigating the war crimes the government is trying to throw him into jail for the rest of his life because, according to them, his whistleblowing compromised national security.

You will recognize the power games from Spain and every other country. This guy is a hero for challenging the system.

Sorry. I misjudged you. Been on Reddit too long. No room for nuance there.

The significance is that media is still often relaying Hamas claims as if fact and you might have been relying wholly on such reports.

That hospital incident was clearly Hamas bs from the outset - no photos, a video of the carpark leaked within 24 hours, Al Jazeera themselves unwittingly streamed live footage of the misfiring rocket.

sqgl, (edited )

Israel could have gone along with this and still attacked Hamas but I suppose they knew there would be Palestinian civilians killed so they wanted the excuse of “But muh hostages!”.

I predict the swap will be done now that Israel needs no more excuse. Hamas leaders will be able to (or allowed to) flee, just like Arafat fled the Beirut siege, calling it a victory.

sqgl,

What deal were Hamas offering at the start?

sqgl,

Hamas & Likud think that way.

Ironically the party folks killed on Oct 7th would have been anti-Likud types.

sqgl,

I doubt it. He is fighting for political survival. He is probably a goner regardless but even he realises that to do what you suggest would be political suicide. He only cares about himself.

Are you by any chance in denial of the PIJ missile which misfired into the hospital carpark a couple of weeks back? The one which Hamas lied was a direct hit by Israeli bombs killing 500?

sqgl, (edited )

He is a hero

investigated too much

No. That is bs. Only the prosecution said that. The article notes it too if you read carefully but deliberately (IMO) gives you the wrong impression.

sqgl,

Soon they will be wanting dick pics.

sqgl,

Thanks. Maybe someone can freshly watch the doco and fill us in.

Just to be clear, MIT’s role was to catch him out by finding his hoovering laptop hidden in the janitor’s cupboard and reporting him to cops. JSTOR didn’t want to prosecute but the government did, presumably because he helped scuttle SOPA & PIPA and was clearly going to be a powerful thorn in their side in future.

Unfortunately MIT gave the government the excuse they were waiting for to destroy him.

That is what I recall from the documentary anyhow.

Worse as in Hamas are right to call the offer insulting?

300 litres of fuel yields only half the power I calculated?

sqgl, (edited )

"This quantity is not enough to operate hospital generators for more than thirty minutes,” Hamas added

This sounded like an exaggeration to me but it checks out by my calculations (correct me if I am wrong).

This website calculates 300 litres would generate 2.85 MW hours. If what Hamas says is true then the hospital would have to be using 5.7 MW of power.

I compared this with the state of Victoria (pop. 6.7M) Australia where the hospitals in total use 147MW of power. In non-wartime that Gazan hospital probably serves about ten times fewer people, which would be 14.7MW. Admittedly an Australian hospital’s power use is probably more profligate.
