stepanzak,

Just make it remapable (is that a word?) and I don’t really care

stepanzak,

I don’t use Windows, but given that their office key just sends ctrl+shift+alt+meta, I’m afraid that this could send something like meta+alt that windows users don’t use, but it would be useless for some Linux users that already use that key combo.

stepanzak,

Please see my explanation of what I meant by that.

Is there a sponsor block situation for Podcasts?

I’m happy to adopt a new podcast app if it has sponsorblock natively or through a plug-in. Otherwise let me know if there’s some other way to make it work. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as all of the segments tagged for skipping are crowdsourced which would also work for Podcasts.

stepanzak,

Idk what do you listen to, but when I listen to hour long podcast, I don’t care about 30 seconds sponsor. That’s not helpful, I know.

stepanzak,

Is there a way to play minecraft without supporting microsoft? AFAIK the cracked clients can’t play on servers that doesn’t specifically allow it.

stepanzak,

Why did you post the exact same meme twice, just changing qb to uT?

stepanzak,

I prefer to explain in detail how to fix that and then say in one short sentence how easier I would fix it on Linux if it happened on Linux, which it obviously wouldn’t. It’s usually completely unbiased and I’m a popular person :)

stepanzak,

Yeah but that’s 19 years ago

stepanzak,

Month ago I had to use an official python script to connect to my high school’s wifi. It was a simple dialog gui though.

stepanzak,

In many cases that’s true, although we probably can’t do anything about it when companies refuse to support Linux ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Did deep sleep broke for anyone else recently or is it just me?

I was running KDE Neon on ThinkBook 15 G2 and had deep sleep working after adding mem_sleep_default=deep to GRUB_CMDLINE. It worked for a while until it didn’t. I didn’t do anything other than running regulat updates. Since couple weeks back, when going to sleep, it shows BIOS Recovery progress bar or something and restarts....

stepanzak,

Is deep sleep the same thing as hibernation? Hibernation is broken for me even on new EndeavourOS install on two different laptops.

stepanzak,

atuin is similar to mcfly but IMO better.

stepanzak,

Trashy is another rm command that sends files to trash that I really like. They recently fixed zsh completions bug, but maybe only in the latest git version. It’s also written in rust.

stepanzak,

Navi is kinda similar to cheat but it has some cool features like shell widget and tmux widget.

stepanzak,

The people from Charm ( GitHub ) make some really cool programs. My favorites are Glow - markdown renderer, and Gum - tool for adding interactivity into shell scripts

stepanzak,

I love how in the comments on even the most basic vim meme I learn something new

My First Regular Expressions

I’ve been reading Mastering Regular Expressions by Jeffrey E.F. Friedl, and since nobody in my life (aside from my wife) cares, I thought I’d share something I’m pretty proud of. My first set of regular expressions, that I wrote myself to manipulate the text I’m working with....

stepanzak,

That’s really cool! I know some regex and I tried to learn vim regex, only to find out it’s a rabbithole so deep I’m afraid to look into. The feeling when you press enter and your carefully crafted regex does exactly what it’s supposed to do is awesome though. Good luck!

"Combokeys" instead of hotkeys. [Feature/new command suggestion]

Title. Basically, “if a street fighter gamer and a linux tryhard had a baby” where a combination of keys is issued to run a command/script rather than a single or a simultaneous stroke of two or more. i.e left, down, left, right arrow keys, R_CTRL to run Firefox. Right, right, Up, right arrow keys, delete to power off the...

stepanzak,

This might be what you’re looking for. Here is a YouTube video tutorial.

stepanzak,

What’s the

in the url? Works fine without it.

stepanzak,

It works fine for me, it’s just unnecessary argument AFAIK.

stepanzak,

I would definitely give a shit even if it was whole OS written in JavaScript.

stepanzak,

Sidebery has a tutorial in the README. You can set it up that the tab bar automatically hides when the Sidebery bar is open.
