superbirra,

it’s not 2-way vs 1-way sync (also, ppl who replied didn’t read your requirements lol), it’s that you want to ignore deletes, which is not possible.

superbirra,

or, you know, you can use your distro packages

XOrg Server and Xwayland Patched Against Multiple Security Vulnerabilities - 9to5Linux (9to5linux.com)

Even if your distro is using Wayland by default, the Xwayland implementation is probably still used for compatibility with X11 apps, so you still need to patch your systems and make sure that the latest version is installed.

superbirra,

which is in fact the only productive choice one can do :) when distro will force switch, then we will see

superbirra,

sync does not have ads for me as of now :)

superbirra,

lol some myth you apparently use it for since it does not look like a bit of things are properly understood here ;)

superbirra,

it’s meta and some assembly is required: the meme is the broken response so you can screenshot it and post on lemmy

superbirra,

lol, no :)

first of all, it only searches for occurrences in already installed packages and is more or less a grep -l xxx /var/lib/dpkg/info/*.list. So you can’t use it in order to determine which package to install, for that you use packages.debian.org or apt-file instead.

Secondly, what you search for isn’t relative to anything (wtf):

$ dpkg-query -S /etc/grub.d/
fwupd, grub-common: /etc/grub.d

How to pull rocks out of pipe in the ground?

My mom has a hole in the ground that she puts her clothes drying hanger in. Like this. The hole in the ground is a 2" or so pipe, set in concrete. The pipe has filled with gravel. Anyone have a tip on getting the rocks out? I can only get so many out using my fingers and then trying to use a set of chopsticks.

superbirra,

when he claimed it was?

superbirra,

If OP is in the US – which I assume he is, from the inch measurement

eh, they could live as well in Liberia or Myanmar

superbirra,

I mean, even my mother who runs kde 5 has a better desktop than the sad one this silly wannabe post. lol

superbirra,

yeah but the point is why bother? :) especially if I wouldn’t notice differences…

superbirra, (edited )

sorry, my rhetorical question was obviously intended as why I should bother. I don’t see any value in stopping you doing whatever you think is better for you, in fact it is exactly what annoys me the most :)

superbirra,

after more than 25 years using linux I could not care less about those dramas, when my distro will drop xorg I’ll switch and that’s it. I’ve got way too much stuff to implement myself already, there is no time for that. I mean, I’ve even embraced systemd…

superbirra,

the threat model is exactly the same for those two scenarios, bear with it and focus on something else :)

Is Ubuntu deserving the hate? (lemmy.ml)

Long story short, I have a desktop with Fedora, lovely, fast, sleek and surprisingly reliable for a near rolling distro (it failed me only once back around Fedora 34 or something where it nuked Grub). Tried to install on a 2012 i7 MacBook Air… what a slog!!! Surprisingly Ubuntu runs very smooth on it. I have been bothering all...

superbirra,

or, you know, use testing or sid. Or just stop lamenting for old packages and just enjoy stability while making something productive :)

superbirra,

dunno what an inverting thing is but I suspect uneven heating is due to different food’s physics properties so uhm…

superbirra,

mh mh, but I’m afraid ASCII isn’t what you suppose it is
