I don’t think I’ve ever added the ability to filter via the text field on any search system I’ve built. Normally there’s checkboxes and categories though

Ya exactly. The idea that fun should come at the expense of giving yourself a safety net is hogwash. I spent the first 25 years of my life living in poverty. The difference between people who stay in poverty and the people who leave is knowing that a stable foundation is more important than anything else in life

An old coworker (and now good friend) once opened our very first conversation about how their paper in uni was a meta-analysis of how the universe might be simulated by a machine. They sent me the paper fully expecting me to read it… It’s been five years now and I haven’t gotten past the fifth page

Cats value their privacy. Litterbox is in the bathroom and I keep the light off. Never had issues

Most people wouldn’t consider these “single use plastic” in the same way that a plastic baggie is. But I always make an effort to get glass containers for things like oil whenever possible

I started using those “eco sheets” for my laundry and they work just as well. The big win is the container is the size of your hand and is made of cardboard

A lot of the takeout places near me are exclusively handing out cardboard and biodegradable based utensils. Which is the better solution systemically imo

I’ve always imagined the universal desire to have a “good stick” and to even know what a “good stick” is stems from a survival instinct
