The sun isn’t big enough to go nova, period. It will swell up in ~5 billion years when it runs out of hydrogen in the core and starts burning helium. Then the sun will start climbing the fusion chain up to iron and there the fusion reaction in the core will die out. When this occurs the outer shell will kind of just slough away leaving a planetary nebula and an extremely hot naked mostly iron core. This core is a white dwarf and will just continue to glow for a few tens of billions of years until it loses all its heat. No fusion is happening in this bad boy it just glows from the residual heat and the heat is so hot it takes longer than the current age of the universe for that heat to dissipate.

Back to the original point though is that the sun won’t explode in a supernova because it lacks the mass to do that. You need a star that is at least 8 times as massive as the sun in order to get a supernova.

None of that cleric nonsense.

Make her a vengeance paladin. She’ll hit like a truck and can still heal. Also thematically she’ll still have the sharran choices as she is identified as a paladin of shar (the only one in the game).

How did you enter the church? You can sneak in the right hand side and avoid two of the fights. You only have to fight the skeletons (which you can disarm).

Also you can talk your way out of the first fight at the church. Or you can kill half the guys there by shooting the giant block hanging over their heads.

Don’t be scared of combat, just use quicksave liberally until you feel more confident. There is almost always a shortcut or easy way out of combat in BG3. My current run i’m trying to solo tactician so you gotta skip as much as you can. I’m at several hundred hours in the game so if you have more specific questions don’t hesitate to ask.

In this vein, sleep is the most op spell at low levels. Taking out 2-3 minions makes so many fights way easier.

Do you have karmic dice on? On the lowest difficulty with karmic dice the enemies tend to hit and crit more often since they get the same +hit you do. Turning that setting off will make your rolls more random which means you can have good and bad streaks but the enemies are less likely to crit you every other hit.

That makes sense for a multiclass.

That’s what people used to say about 1-3.

Were you around in the late 90s-early 2000s? Because let me tell you that the prequels did not spark joy for people then. It was insane the amount of hate leveled at Ep 1-3. Hell kids at Jake Lloyd’s school bullied him so hard he quit acting.

So you never know, 7-9 might spark joy for people in 20 years.

Everything about this post is 100% accurate except for one glaring error. That is Benjamin Sisko, not Mr Spock.

It’s like how all the “people” in the stands in The Phantom Menace podracing scene were actually Q-Tips.

O sing a song of Balduran, who founded Baldur’s Gaaaaaate.

Empire golden built on trade, could not avert his faaaaaaate.

I always belt that shit out with the singer in the tavern when I long rest. Shit gets stuck in my head so bad.

That’s the whole point of going evil though. You’re taking a harder path. Being a murder hobo doesn’t end up going well for anyone.

teft,
@teft@lemmy.world avatar

I don’t know how far you’ve gotten in the story but there are story specific rewards for evil acts in a durge playthrough. Whether they make up for the loss of the tieflings and the gear they hold is debatable but there are evil rewards.

Are there special dialogue options if I choose the white dragonborn character instead of making a custom one?

Not sure on that one. I can’t stand playing a character without darkvision. Preferably improved. I personally like drow since you get a fuck load of dialog choice good and bad so you get to decide what type of drow you want to be. For Dark Urge you usually get two different choices also. Either give in to the urge or push it away. Both are stellar story experiences.

I used his hand to impress the murder tribune in my Durge playthrough.

One thing I remembered that is similar to your question about using the white dragonborn for dialogue. If you leave the dark urge’s name as The Dark Urge there are a few lines where the narrator will say “You say your name, The Dark Urge, out loud” instead of “You say your name out loud” if you have a custom name. The first instance is when you awake on the beach after the intro scene. There might be more but I can’t remember off the top of my head.

If you respec Shadowheart as a Paladin you get a few extra dialogue options specific to [Paladin of Shar] (lemmy.world)

It’s neat how they thought of so many different scenarios. You don’t get any other gods mentioned in paladin dialogues as far as I can tell. I played a PC of Tiefling, Drow, and Half-orc paladins so far and none of those had any “Paladin of” options to choose. SH just happened to be my face this run and I guess if you...

That’s awesome! In my run she’s a pure paladin but I guess now I’m going to have to roll a Paladin of Lolth so me and Minth can be twinsies.

The really neat thing is there is even a tag on her statistics page that says Paladin of Shar.

I just checked with a new character and you’re totally right. I wonder what happens if you go meet the paladins of Tyr as a real Paladin of Tyr… Man, just when I thought I was done with this game it drags me back in.

The best oathbreaker dialog I got so far was talking to Raphael. He offered me his deal and I said (paraphrased) “I’m a paladin sworn to uphold a holy vow”. Raphael is like “You broke your oaths homie. Not so holy I guess.” or something to that effect. Made me crack up that Raphael could tell I was an oathbreaker.

Squeeze your glutes every few minutes while you’re on the can. That should prevent the numbness.
