tourist, 1 year ago to linux in Which terminal emulator do you use? If you’re allowed to install WSL on your work machine, they recently (I think recently) added GUI support for linux applications. If you install kitty on a WSL distro, you can use it like any other windows program. You can access your windows file system from /mnt/ I don’t really know how they do the virtualization, so you may lose a lot of the performance benefits that kitty has. Very clunky workaround, but it’s an option.

tourist, 1 year ago to memes in At least uBlock Origin is always up-to-date now Is it really that easy? Why did they even bother? They’ve known about ad blockers for well over decade now and their “solution” can be bypassed with inspect-element. Nice.

tourist, 1 year ago to linux in Linux in the corporate space My university dual booted Windows 10 and Ubuntu (science department computer labs only) All the other departments just had Windows 10, except for Engineering, which used Windows 7 for some fucking reason. I hope I’m remembering wrong.

tourist, 1 year ago to linux in When Windows 10 dies, I am going to jump ship over to Linux. Which version would you recommend for someone with zero prior experience with Linux? **Edit: Linux Mint it shall be.** I never heard of Distrobox until now. It seems really cool. What’s the cause for hesitation? Unreasonably resource intensive?
