Yeah another stellar case in point to show Sony would rather you eat glass than have to do anything for you.

Let’s not forget the ridiculous court case against Geohotz for jail breaking the PS3. They pulled out every dirty tactic they could in that suit. Really showed their colours and how they actually “fight” in the court of law.

Scum of the earth.

I don’t think it was on purpose, but who knows what their facilities are like. Maybe their phones are built in a literal sweat shop lol.

In any case, it was a ridiculous thing to use to weasel their way out of a repair given how unreliable those markers are. I would definitely have taken as much evidence as possible and reported it to the consumer watchdog in your country.

Again, 🖕Sony

lol. You give an ad spot way too much credit

Give it another 10 years, you won’t “own” anything. It’ll be “licensed.” Weird tho. Digital content is endless. But you can’t consume it into extinction; physical things are finite, but we’re like here take it! It’s yours! Call a cop or shoot anyone trying to take it.

Seems backwards to me.

And a myriad of fake ones piggybacking off the original URL to JavaScript your mouse clicks into link backs so it takes 8 clicks on a link to find the file is dead anyway.

Using Wipr on iOS, which has no special abilities other than blocking ads using EasyList and don’t have any issues.

Also, I don’t see why thetvdb would be so aggressive given their content is crowdsourced.

ultratiem, (edited ) to piracy in What is the easy way to stream movies/series hosted on file hosting/sharing sites?
@ultratiem@lemmy.ca avatar

If you want Jellyfin to fetch media from a rapidgator or megaup URL, then nope, haven’t seen anything like that.

It’s a bit old but here’s a pretty thorough list of their plugins: reddit.com/…/list_of_all_known_jellyfin_plugin_re…

And: github.com/awesome-jellyfin/awesome-jellyfin

JF supports all the Arrs suite, so you may be able to do what you want (stream media) in other ways. For example, doing it all on JF yourself and then creating accounts for your family. You would be the admin setting up the content and they would just log in and consume it.

ultratiem, to privacy in A question about secure chats
@ultratiem@lemmy.ca avatar

iMessage definitely has more hooks in than those listed. It’s an integral Apple service that’s hooked into your deeper iCloud account. And because of that, they know a lot more than just a mere “chat” app would get access to. Which likely makes it harder to quantify.

Moreover, Meta and Alphabet also cross reference a lot of data points from all the other sources they have (cookies, IP logs, etc.). Again making actual data points fuzzy or incomplete.

Yes as of writing this, the instance works fine. But that’s what I’m saying, within an hour it’ll be down, or just show the thumbnails but not actually load videos.

The takehome is Google isn’t going to let Piped exist. And constantly does things to interfere which Piped can only do so much to bypass it all.
