If buying is not owning, then piracy is not stealing.

thats fair, but from an outside perspective (from either country) it looks exactly like how the US treats its dissidents. i doubt someone like julian assange would get better treatment.

also, i dont know how they defined “dissident” in this case but its vague enough that i wont judge too hastily.

why is the us torturing him then?

do you think they would let him up and cross the border?

"Combokeys" instead of hotkeys. [Feature/new command suggestion]

Title. Basically, “if a street fighter gamer and a linux tryhard had a baby” where a combination of keys is issued to run a command/script rather than a single or a simultaneous stroke of two or more. i.e left, down, left, right arrow keys, R_CTRL to run Firefox. Right, right, Up, right arrow keys, delete to power off the...

does it nees to be implemented anywhere else?

What is Something Scientific that you just don't believe in at all?

EDIT: Let’s cool it with the downvotes, dudes. We’re not out to cut funding to your black hole detection chamber or revoke the degrees of chiropractors just because a couple of us don’t believe in it, okay? Chill out, participate with the prompt and continue with having a nice day. I’m sure almost everybody has something...

Genocide is happening right now in the current system. Some learned from past mistakes some didn’t. We can do better either way.

generally speaking brand new hardware wont usually have proper support unless you are using newer versions of the kernel, thats not really limited to just wifi

i find that the linux experience can vary wildly depending on the hardware you are running it on.

when it works it changes the way you use your computer for the better, when it doesnt its nothing but frustration and broken keyboards

What happened to the PC games (or what happened to consoles)?

I got out of video game piracy for a while, but I’m coming back. One thing I have been absolutely SHOCKED by is how finding PC game torrents is actually kind of difficult from my normal sources. Now it’d be one thing if I just wasn’t seeing games, but for some reason Playstation and Switch have far more uploaders and...

We are 100% going to suffer, but I think we can still survive as a species if we act quickly.

If worst case scenario comes to fruition it would be sweet to at least not let those bastards live to 100 and die peacefully in their sleep, on their cozy air conditioned beds.

i think most people will wake up when hunger and extreme heat comes to knock on their door. im not sure if its gonna be too late by then.

i do see the seeds of revolution starting to germinate, that looks like it will come first.

We organize. Lenin literally wrote a manual outlining the basic general steps, and those were used successfully all around the world by the working class to take over the state. It is also a great way of fighting fascism.

We organize worker unions, then start using our power of collective bargaining and strikes to force them to concede more and more. All that while building a paralel socialist party and bottom up councils to direct the decisions, this party will eventually take over the state. In an ideal world this can be done nonviolently (it did initially happen peacefully in russia) but the elites will resist so we have to be prepared and strong enough. Along the way we may need to arm ourselves, save up on food and necessities to defend against the state violence that will come. For that we need a good chunk of the population onboard but its definetly possible. About half the people in most countries are already convinced voting can only bring the lesser evil so half the battle is done for us.

This is just one way, of course there are several schools of thought on the left about how to do it. Anarchists have an interesting idea of just building the all institutions we need parallel to the state too, although their method never worked on a large countrywide scale, it works pretty well for smaller communes.
