Yep, just saying I had problems.

victorz, to linuxmemes in It's OK if you cry

Had problems about 3 years ago, got a new laptop from work and the WiFi hardware was too new and didn’t have support in the kernel yet. Took a year or something, maybe less, until it worked.

For example that producing and shipping the pure amount of mass corresponding to the same amount of nutrition in vegan foods vs dairy/meat products is not sustainable, because plant based foods contain so much less nutrition than animal products. You have to level and destroy forest habitats to grow all these things for 10,000,000,000 people… That’s an infant amount of plants.

And a lot of foods that claim to be “good sources of protein” don’t really… contain much else, like meat does. Some are even harmful in large quantities like too much soy in your diet, especially to children.

I dunno, these are things I’ve been told. Just the messenger so take with a grain of salt. But I thought they were interesting points that shouldn’t be ignored and should be disproven before dismissed. I just have too much going on in my life to worry about researching it right now. 😓 But one day maybe!

What do you think? I think this topic is definitely more complicated than “let’s fix/save the world by going vegan”.

That’s okay, it was only intended for you…

I think what you’re missing is that they want everyone to go vegan. I think that’s the point.

I’m not on any side here, just pointing out where I think you walked off the trail (in the very beginning).

How many per day are replenished then?

victorz, to lemmyshitpost in hypocrite.

You’d think so, until you hear the rebuttals to this that never ever get brought up by the media.

victorz, to linuxmemes in Yeah, very sorry that this app is Windows only, would love to switch to Mac

I know, you’re all good 🫂

I mean, despite the down votes I thought this was pretty based, even if it came across as a personal attack.

victorz, to memes in Japan is on its own wavelength.

Have another go at this train of thought, mate… You’re basically saying “MM/DD” is better at sorting chronologically than “DD/MM”, since the year part is taken out of the equation, which is already the established consensus, and not ironical whatsoever. And the ISO standard is already to use YYYY-MM-DD, so that’s the winner IMO, hands down. Japan is simply following that but using a slash as the delimiter.

I think the point I was trying to make was that the lifetime of the photon is nonzero to us, from our perspective, but zero to the photon, from its perspective. All of its energy is in its velocity.

Remember in Interstellar when they slingshot around the black hole and it cost them like 80 years or whatever? The time around them went by faster as a result. Well a photon going at c would see time around it going by at max time speed as well, so it would arrive at its destination immediately after it departed. (From its perspective.)

That’s how I understand it.
