whoisearth,

OS2/Warp

IBM showed us there could be a superior OS that wasn’t Windows or Mac. Been chasing that dragon ever since.

What's your favorite compilation album?

I’ve been really enjoying the Red Hot Organization’s “No Alternative” and “Dark was the Night” recently, both because they raised a lot of money for AIDS research and because they do a great job of capturing the 90s alternative sound and 00s indie sound respectively, and it’s got me thinking how much I love...

whoisearth,

Terror off the beat

Was a series of industrial music compilations in the 90’s. Introduced a lot of us to industrial music we never would have heard of without it.

whoisearth,

Which one is gayer? It’s a competition damnit!

whoisearth,

AAA titles are already selling between 90 and 130 CAD depending on the version. 150 for the new GTA would not surprise me.

I am happy I’m a patient gamer so aside from very specific titles (Elden Ring) I rarely buy day 1.

Jokes aside communism is just as bad because it does nothing to prevent power from congregating at the top. The only difference is the type of corruption.

Talk to anyone who grew up in the eastern block about bread lines. Communism is a failure in comparison to capitalism.

whoisearth,

Socialism != Communism you moron.

I’m actually all for socialism.

whoisearth,

Point taken. I am not for communism as I’ve seen first hand what it looks like. All communism does is congregate the power in the government instead of private hands. It’s still corrupt just in a different way.

Doesn’t matter the form of government. Power will narrow and corrupt IMHO. It’s human nature.

A lot of it, as a “Westerner” is also the devil you know.

whoisearth,

As a landlord (renting out my basement) Amen. Fuck people with multiple homes for the purpose of “passive income”.

whoisearth,

But cars don’t appreciate in value…

Good on you with everything else and I’m with you 100%, but as soon as you drove that car off the lot it’s been deprecating in value.

whoisearth,

Historically speaking they don’t. I understand there are outliers for sure.

whoisearth,

If you look at all the cars that have ever existed 99/100 times that car is deprecating.

Yes, OP may have bought a classic car or something with high resale value. I was simply speaking in generalizations. The vast majority of cars depreciate in value once you drive them off the lot.

whoisearth,

It’s also pretentious. Just saying lol

whoisearth,

Unless you’re typing code why is it important?

whoisearth,

And it’s still pretentious AF lol

whoisearth,

I’m special and because of that my comments need to look different than everyone else

Furthermore I’m doing this for reasons you won’t fully understand because I’m cooler than you

It seriously comes across like some autist green text from 4chan. Imagine if you had a buddy that only conversed in Olde English. You still understand them but Jesus Christ.

whoisearth,

Lol you realize we are on The Internet right? They can do them I’m simply stating it’s dumb AF. Anyways, you do you too.

whoisearth,

Buddy of mine survived a PIP and is now one level up. Took a long time but he did it. Sometimes the PIP is related to politics (ie. Asshole “leaders”)

whoisearth,

Friendly reminder it’s never about consumer rights. It’s about who is in control of the data.

A question you can all ask yourself. Despite the warts in both who would you rather control your data (you have no choice here. Someone is controlling your data and it is not you)

A. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc.

B. Government

You’ll get strong answers either way. Personally I’d rather the government strictly from an accountability perspective but that also warrants governments not electing shitheads which unfortunately the world is leaning towards with these populist right wing politicians gaining favour.

whoisearth,

Killer Mike. He a real one.

Charles Barkley as well.

whoisearth,

I’m beyond jelly at that. I’d love to see them live one day. I saw El way back in the day with Aesop.

whoisearth,

This may sound weird but as a self professed hermit a part of me wants only my kids to know when I die. The idea of a room being filled with people because I’ve died just seems weird.

whoisearth,

Cardio is awesome, the runners high is real, but you have to be well conditioned so it’s tough for beginners.

Hell nah. I spent 40 years telling people running is what you do to get away from the police. I started jogging during the pandemic 2 years ago. You sure as shit don’t need to be well conditioned just be aware of your body and its limits which I will admit many people are not.
