What are some food items that cost less than what they "should"?

Bananas are ridiculously cheap even up here in Canada, and they aren’t grown anywhere near here. Yet a banana can grow, be harvested, be shipped, be stocked, and then be purchased by me for less than it’d cost to mail a letter across town. (Well, if I could buy a single banana maybe…or maybe that’s not the best...

The United States subsidizes the hell out of dairy products. Dairy (and by extension, beef) is way, way cheaper than it should be.

A ransom note, copied word for word from a template from a Catholic organization, was sent to the Rancho Peñasquitos Branch Library after two women followed the instructions of an anti-LGBTQ+ organization and checked out every potentially queer or trans book they could find. It backfired.

It’s been getting safer overall for some time, despite everything that we see on the news. It has helped me to actually get out and talk to people I live near. It dispels the mistrust and fear that come with not knowing my neighbors.
